Org. Setting and Reporting The Software Quality Control Officer is responsible to the Head, Applications Development & Support Section, P4.

Responsibilities Carries out the quality control function on new software applications, changes and additions to existing applications and on incident/problem resolutions. In this capacity, the incumbent creates quality control plans, participates in, and oversees the conducting of software testing, and acts on findings by taking the needed corrective actions and creation of necessary quality controls.

Plans and designs different testing types for software applications including unit, integration, load, performance and security testing, prepares test cases accounting for all possible scenarios, implements and supervises the implementation of these tests against requirements and standards, reports on findings and takes needed corrective actions.

Automates the different types of software testing through the use of specialized tools, integrates these tools in IMTD’s SDLC automation platforms such as DevOps and provides training for staff on the effective utilisation of these tools.

Researches the marketplace for new quality control approaches, techniques and tools, prepares proposals for their adoption and internalization, and promotes a quality culture in IMTD.

Contributes to the creation of software standards, including coding, database, User Experience (UX)and documentation standards from a quality perspective.

Education A university degree from an accredited educational institution in computer science or a related field;

Formal training in software quality management.

Job - Specific Qualification Formal training in software quality management.

Work Experience A minimum of five years of progressively responsible relevant experience in the area of applications development and implementation.

Two years of work experience involving quality control and inspection of large software applications using structured approaches and automated tools.

Experience in the use of a standard/Agile SDLC methodology, project management tools and techniques in addition to using standard productivity tools.

Languages Very good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Special Notice Type of Contract and duration: Fixed-term appointment of 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.

The incumbent may be required to travel in the Agency’s area of operations.

This vacancy notice is open to internal and external candidates. Only candidates residing in Jordan with authorization to work in the duty station at the time of application are eligible to apply. Equivalency When the minimum requirements are not fully met, the Director of Human Resources may exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications and progressive relevant work experience.

NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an acceptable combination. The Software Quality Control Officer may be required to travel frequently in the Agency's area of operations.
