Overview

Develop and manage enterprise-level learning management systems using Moodle/PHP.

You have:

  • Completion of High school/secondary school is a requirement.
  • First level university degree in computer applications will be a strong recommendation, but not a requirement.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience with (bachelor’s degree) or six years’ experience with (High school diploma or equivalent), including at least three years in the development of PHP based online platforms is a requirement.
  • Previous experience in software development using LAMP stack, Linux, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, AJAX, Apache, and Moodle LMS is desirable.
  • Previous experience in XML data structures, Web Services (SOA), MySQL and other RDBMS would be an added advantage.
  • Fluency in English and Hindi is required.

Contract

This is a SB-3 contract. This kind of contract is known as Service Board / Service Contract. It is normally only for nationals. More about SB-3 contracts.

Background

The Enterprise Application Development (EAD) unit of the Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for developing sustainable and affordable IT solutions to meet UNOV/UNODC requirements, also enabling availability of the solutions more generally across the UN Secretariat entities.

Job Purpose and Organizational Context

The India Technology Hub (ITH/EAD) based in New Delhi forms part of the ITS's vital delivery pillars. It keeps up with the UN's revised ICT strategy. As part of this strategy and under the Head – ITH; the Software Development Associate will work with a team of highly motivated software development professionals on various applications - development, enhancements, management, and deployment tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

Within delegated authority, and in close cooperation with the Head – Technology and Solution, the Software Development Associate will be responsible for the following duties:

· Designing and building enterprise-level learning management systems based on Moodle/PHP

· Perform design, configure, customize and implement responsive and effective LMS systems

· Implement multi-tenancy scalable Moodle architecture

· Integrate with plugins when required, write scripts to automate Moodle routines and processes

· Planning and implementing API integrations with third parties when required

· Analyze business processes and user requirements to establish Moodle

· Support Moodle/PHP implementations and resolve any technical issues Ensure data security and integrity.

· Performs workflow analysis and recommends quality improvements.

· Ensures data security and integrity.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

    Education:
