You have:

- Experience within the UN system or working with the UN System is desirable.
- Fluency oral and written in English and French is required.
- Knowledge of Spanish is desirable.

Result of Service
The consultant will support UN Secretariat implementation efforts of UNGA Resolution A/RES/77/281, strengthening UNTFSSE and to mainstream social solidarity economy within UNCTAD and relevant UN entities programming.

Duties and Responsibilities
Against this background, UNCTAD is seeking an international consultant expert on social and solidarity economy to support the UNTFSSE Co-Chair and Head of Trade, Environment, Climate Change and Sustainable Development to support the implementation of UNGA Resolution A/RES/77/281 and modernization of the UNTFSSE on the following activities.
These four mandates include:
• To promote and implement national, local, and regional strategies, policies, and programmes for supporting and enhancing the social and solidarity economy. • To encourage relevant entities of the United Nations development system, including United Nations country teams, to give due consideration to the social and solidarity economy. • To encourage multilateral, international and regional financial institutions, and development banks to support the social and solidarity economy. • Requests the Secretary-General to prepare a report, within existing resources, in collaboration with the UNTFSSE on the implementation of A/RES/77/281 resolution.
Under the supervision of the project officer of UNCTAD - TECCSD Branch, the consultant will:
Collect inputs from UN System and Member States for the preparation of the UN Secretary General Report on UNGA Resolution A/RES/77/281 under the guidance of the UNTFSSE and its editorial committee.
Produce under the guidance of the UNTFSSE editorial committee an outline for the SG report.
Support the UNTFSSE Secretariat in the creation and design of two technical bodies under its supervision: 1) the technical Working Group on Financing (TWGF); and 2) Group of friends of Social Solidarity Economy (GFSSE).
Lead the organization of two rounds of consultations with UNTFSSE Secretariat and other relevant stakeholders on the UN draft SG report preparations and on the creation of TWGF Secretariat and for the GFSSE.
Produce a draft and a final SG Report under the guidance of the UNTFSSE and for approval of the UNTFSSE’s editorial committee.
Produce a guide with fundraising and financial options to implement the mandate of the UNTFSSE.
Produce a UNCTAD work plan to integrate SSE into its programming by using UNCTAD TEDB as a pilot.
Prepare a hands-on programming manual and implementation guidance based on the UNCTAD pilot to assist UN entities integrate SSE in their programming.
Provide Secretariat support the TWGF and the GFSSE meetings, including agenda, invitations, and minutes.
Qualifications/special skills
