Provide technical support and assistance in social policy programming.
You have:
- An University Degree in Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, or another relevant field is required.
- A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience is required.
- Experience working in a developing country is considered a strong asset.
- Background and/or familiarity with emergency is considered a strong asset.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
Contract
This is a NO-2 contract. This kind of contract is known as National Professional Officers. It is normally only for nationals. It's a staff contract. More about NO-2 contracts.

The Social Policy officer is accountable for providing technical support and assistance in all stages of social policy programming and related advocacy from strategic planning and formulation to delivery of concrete and sustainable results.
This will involve the following key functions:
- Improving data on child poverty & vulnerability for increased use for policy and programme action
- Strengthening social protection coverage and impact for children
- Improving use of public financial resources for children
- Strengthening capacity of local governments to plan, budget, consult on and monitor child-focused social services.
- Strengthened advocacy and partnerships for child-sensitive social policy

EDUCATION
An University Degree in one of the following area is required:
• Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, or another relevant technical field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience is required.
- Experience working in a developing country is considered as a strong asset.
Background and/or familiarity with emergency is considered as a strong asset.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset
