Overview

Assist in creating engaging social media content for UNICEF Oman events.

You have:

  • Previous experience in social media, communications, campaigning or strategy development with excellent communication and writing/editing skills.
  • Knowledge and use of social media platforms for awareness-raising and advocacy purposes.
  • Good knowledge of online marketing tools and channels, as well as experience designing outreach/marketing tools, is highly desired.
  • A degree in marketing, communications, or related fields is considered an asset.

The online volunteers will support UNICEF Oman by creating social media content, and event related materials for activities that will be taking place in Oman.

The volunteers will assist UNICEF ’s Communications team to enhance brand awareness, engage event attendees, and drive traffic and leads through various communication channels and social networks, including website and other social media platforms (Linked In, Facebook, X, Instagram, Threads, YouTube).

Volunteers will have the opportunity to develop skills under the guidance of the UNICEF communications team and will receive a certificate of appreciation from UNV.

Under the supervision of UNICEF’s Communications team, we are seeking a volunteer to support us with:

Sourcing and curating video and photographic footage from UNICEF Oman events (October–November), including but not limited to: the Childhood Conference, Training of Trainers, World Children’s Day Roundtable, and World Children’s Day CEO Takeovers. (Content will be shared with the volunteer for editing and creative use.)

Creating engaging, original, and high-quality content for social media posts (text, images, videos, and infographics).

Coordinating and engaging with social media influencers to participate in an online campaign for World Children’s Day.

Developing a social media calendar for October–November and suggesting ways to ensure maximum online engagement.

Designing event-related materials (e.g., handouts, digital flyers) for online and in-person consumption.

Final Deliverables:

One comprehensive social media content plan.

6 Instagram reels

2 YouTube videos

6 static posts

10 Instagram stories

2 designed handouts (Childhood Conference & World Children’s Day Takeovers)

Outreach to at least 50 influencers engaged to participate in World Children’s Day online campaign

All deliverables must follow UNICEF’s brand guidelines and be completed with high quality and on schedule.
