Shabab Balad Egypt, supported by UNICEF, is currently undertaking efforts to strengthen and further institutionalize its governance systems, operational frameworks, and organizational structures to support sustainable programme implementation and effective coordination.
To support this process, Shabab Balad seeks the contribution of an Online Volunteer to conduct research and compile global and regional best practices related to governance systems, institutional structures, accountability mechanisms, operational policies, and organizational management approaches relevant to youth platforms and programme structures.
The assignment will support internal governance strengthening efforts by providing evidence-based research, benchmarking examples, and organized reference materials that can inform ongoing discussions and future governance development processes task discription.
Under the guidance of the Shabab Balad team, the Online Volunteer will support the following tasks:
Conduct desk research on governance best practices and institutional models relevant to programme platforms and organizational structures. Review governance frameworks, operational systems, and accountability approaches used by similar initiatives, organizations, and networks. Identify and document best practices related to: Governance structures and coordination mechanisms Roles and responsibilities frameworks Accountability and reporting systems Operational policies and procedures Decision-making and oversight mechanisms Organizational sustainability approaches Compile findings into concise summaries, presentations, and briefing materials. Support benchmarking and comparative analysis exercises. Organize and catalogue governance-related resources, tools, and reference materials.
By the end of the task, the volunteer is expected to provide recommendations and insights based on research findings to support governance strengthening efforts within Shabab Balad.

Experience in online research, report writing.
Fluency in English is required. Arabic is an advantage.
