Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for emergency employee as Temporary Settlement Support Team Leader.

About the Job

The Temporary Settlement Support will be responsible for coordinating, overseeing and directly implementing DRC’s temporary settlement support activities aimed at improving site conditions for affected populations living in collective sites. To this end, the TSS Team Leader will liaise with DRC staff across departments and implementing partners to ensure our activities are multi-sectoral, integrated and timely.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Programming

  • Working with the TSS manager, the team leader will lead on the creation of service mapping in their area of responsability.
  • Further, they will actively engage with other partners to keep the service mapping up to date and as comphrensive as possible.
  • The TL will track referall cases to ensure that a multi-sectoral response tailored to a sites need is acheived by DRC and its partners.
  • Liase closely with DRC sectoral teams and management to ensure that we coordinate and are efficent.
  • Conduct or liase with others conducting site identification and mointoring activites.
  • Continue to work with site focal points to follow up on issues raised and react where sites change.

Reporting

  • Lead on the production of site mointoring results, updates on referalls and other information management products as required

Representation

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with local partners and communities in order to maintain trust in DRC’s professional standard and quality of work among all stakeholders.

Operations

  • Contribute to the effective implementation of all operations support activites, including related to administration, finances and logistics, so as to ensure smooth project implementation. In all matters, comply with internal directive and policies as communicated by the Humanitarian Programme Manager and/or the relevant support departments.

Other

  • Conduct other tasks as requested by the the line manager for the effective implementation of DRC’s project, including translation, support to capacity-building activities and other duties.

About you

To be successful in this role, you must have a relevant degree/diploma in, social sciences, community development and mobilization, geography, international relations or another relevant field.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required Experience and Technical Competencies:

  • Previous professional experience in humanitarian coordination
  • 4 years’ experience in the field of social work, humanitarian intervention, community development, or any other relevant field is desirable
  • High-level of computer literacy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good communication channels with relevant stakeholders

Languages:

Fluent Turkish or Arabic

Verbal and written English

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals.
