The Opportunity

We are excited to announce a compelling opportunity to join Save the Children Bangladesh as a Senior Technical Manager for Education in Emergency (EiE) programs based in Cox's Bazar. In this role, you will lead the strategic development and implementation of innovative EiE initiatives aimed at providing essential education services to conflict-affected and displaced populations, particularly Rohingya and host communities. Your primary objectives will revolve around providing visionary leadership to a team of technical experts, ensuring the operational excellence and impact of our education programs, and fostering strong collaborations with government entities, donors, and education sector partners to align our interventions with national and international standards. As the Senior Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role in curriculum and material development, staff capacity building, and program quality assurance to ensure the delivery of high-quality education services. Your responsibilities will extend to resource mobilization, where you will work closely with our New Business Development team to devise strategies for securing funds and maintaining strong relationships with donors and member offices. This position offers a unique opportunity to drive positive change by contributing to the strategic direction and growth of Save the Children's education programs in Cox's Bazar. By leveraging your expertise in Education in Emergency and your commitment to child rights and humanitarian principles, you will have a direct impact on improving access to quality education for vulnerable children and communities in crisis-affected areas.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 7 years of proven experience working in the education sector, with a focus on Education in Emergency (EiE) aspects. At least 3 years of experience in a technical role specifically related to Education in Emergency. Previous experience and demonstrated skills in teacher professional development and curriculum development. • Previous experience in a humanitarian context with reputable organizations. • Proficiency in using established inter-agency standards or Save the Children International (SCI) packages related to EiE, such as INEE Minimum Standards, Teachers in Crisis Contexts (TICC), Literacy and Writing in Emergencies (LWiE), Psychosocial Support/Psychological First Aid (PSS/PFA), Life Skills, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), etc. • Experience in implementing or providing technical advice on education in emergencies programs, including collaboration with local implementing partners. • Flexibility and adaptability to work in challenging and potentially insecure environments. • Commitment to child rights, Save the Children's mission and principles, and adherence to humanitarian standards. • Ability to identify and address quality issues in education within challenging contexts and provide innovative solutions. • Strong capacity-building skills, with a track record of enhancing the understanding of education program implementation among diverse stakeholders. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, enabling effective collaboration and reporting. • Holds a Master's Degree, preferably in Education, Social Science, Development Studies, or a related field.
