Business Process Unit, Operational Analysis & Technology (Supply Chain) Centre- UNICEF Supply Division

UNICEF's supply and logistics headquarters - Supply Division - is located in Copenhagen, which is also home to the largest humanitarian warehouse in the world. About a half of the 1000 colleagues are housed in Supply Division, Copenhagen with areas of expertise including logistics, procurement, warehouse management, product innovation, market insights, finance, pharma, nutrition, vaccines, cold chain and health technologies and engineering. Over 1000 colleagues work in the Supply Function across 97 countries and 173 offices and form the Supply Community.

For Every Child…Support The Operational Analysis and Technology Centre (OATC) provides ICT services for Supply Division (SD) to support UNICEF global supply chain operations. The services portfolio includes systems analysis, business process analysis, material master data administration, VISION (SAP) user roles oversight, and infrastructure & customer support (helpdesk) services and solutions development. ICT services are delivered via four units. They are HelpDesk, Infrastructure, Business Process and Systems Development.

This position is placed in the Business Process Unit within the Operational Analysis & Technology Centre (OATC)

How Can You Make a Difference? Under the guidance of the Business Analyst in the Business Process Unit (BPU) of the Operational Analysis and Technology Centre (OATC), the Sr. Technical Associate (Material Master Data Management) is responsible for the creation and maintenance of materials in VISION (SAP) in collaboration with different material owners, other centres involved in material creation and UNICEF country offices. In addition, the MM administrator is the focal point in improvements in the material master content, processes and governance through enhanced data quality and streamlined process.

This position will also be providing user support related to material master for Supply Logistics modules in SAP and online Supply Catalogue in Magento eCommerce platform, primarily for Copenhagen and on an as needed basis for UNICEF field offices globally.

Summary of key functions and accountabilities:

• The Senior Technical Associate will lead the MM Team in the management, maintenance and monitoring of the material master data in SAP under the guidance of the Business Analyst and in coordination with the material owners and other stakeholders in the office.

• Administer material master data maintenance in VISION (SAP) including creation, update, deletion as well as coordination with other stakeholders involved in the process. Keep a log of change activities and manage responses to requests from field offices.

• Ensure high quality and accurate data through regular monitoring and review, identification of issues and corresponding corrections. Active coordination with material owners and other stakeholders in the resolution of issues.

• Lead the development of material master data metrics for easily identifying data issues using dashboards and reports like Power BI. Prepare data analytics and reports on material master with data from SAP as required.

• Provide support on material master related issues, coordinate resolution of issues with other stakeholders.

• Provide training and guidance to SD staff on material master and its relationship to supply chain functions. Prepare training materials and technical documentation on material master. Review and update of business process procedures, division procedures and other guidance documents on material master.

• Active involvement in the development of a workflow application for material master data maintenance which will include conceptualization, business requirements documentation and user acceptance testing.

• Ensure data in the online Supply Catalogue in Magento and SAP material master data are synchronised; monitor and troubleshoot problems relating to the supply catalogue.

• Participate in testing of bug fixes and newly developed functions in SAP and Magento related to material master.

• Active involvement in the work related to possible adoption of GS1 standards by UNICEF as applied to material master. Engage with SAP and GS1 specialists to fully understand the implications on material numbering, impact on sales order process as well as in MRP.

• Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or centre Chief.

Candidates should be proficient in using Microsoft office suite, especially Excel. The incumbent should have strong statistical and analytical skills for data extraction and analysis; have knowledge of data analytics tools like Power BI and good knowledge of material master and related transactions in SAP; He/she should have fluent written and oral communication skills in English for provision of general guidance and making presentations or conducting training.

Required: • Valid work permit and residency in Denmark at the time of submitting the application. Note that the selected candidate is responsible for obtaining any required extension of their residence permit as such an extension cannot be dependent on an employment with UNICEF • Completion of secondary education in related field. • Minimum seven years of relevant professional work experience in the area of material master data administration, with at least three years of hands-on experience in SAP material master data. • Demonstrable experience in data extraction, analysis and reporting using SAP tables. • Knowledge and work experience in supply chain business process documentation and analysis. • Fluency in English

Desirable: • Technical or university courses in Computer Science, Business Administration, engineering or related field; • Experience in SAP materials management module (purchasing) and sales and distribution module (sales); • Experience in material master administration in pharmaceuticals, retail or merchandising companies; • Prior work experience in international organizations such as the United Nations or similar is an advantage • Proficiency in another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish)
