Contract

This is a G-6 contract. This kind of contract is known as General Service and related categories. It is normally only for nationals. It usually requires 6 years of experience, depending on education. More about G-6 contracts.

Under the overall supervision of the Programme Coordinator and the direct supervision of the National Project Officer (Regular Pathways & Socioeconomic Integration) this position is responsible for supporting the labour market integration of newly arrived migrants by developing and implementing employment-focused activities that promote sustainable inclusion in the local workforce. The incumbent works closely with public institutions, training providers, NGOs and business networks to strengthen pathways to employment, while maintaining accurate programme data and monitoring results. The position also contributes to programme planning, reporting, budget monitoring, stakeholder coordination, and staff guidance to ensure effective, responsive, and labour market-driven integration support for migrants.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience; or
• High School diploma with six years of relevant professional experience

EXPERIENCE

• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
• Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
• Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

Responsibilities

1. Support individualized case management and referral follow-up for migrants, ensuring timely needs assessment, documentation, coordination with relevant service providers, tracking of assistance provided, and regular follow-up to support access to services and progress toward integration outcomes. 2. Plan, implement and monitoring labour market integration activities targeting newly arrived migrants, ensuring alignment with local labour market needs and inclusion strategies. 3. Collect, compile, and analyze labour market data, including sector demand, skills shortages and barriers faced by migrants (e.g., language, credential recognition, legal restrictions); provide actionable insights to inform targeted job matching strategies. 4. Monitor budget implementation and propose adjustments as necessary. 5. Act as focal point for engaging employers, private sector partners, and industry associations to promote inclusive hiring practices and identify job opportunities suitable for recently arrived migrants. 6. Draft status reports; identify shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest corrective measures. 7. Facilitate job matching by assessing migrant profiles (skills, experience, language level, legal status) and aligning them with available vacancies; support placement processes, including referrals, interview coordination, and follow-up. 8. Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions; prepare training materials and participate in the delivering of capacity building workshops. 9. Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records. 10. Organize and deliver training sessions for migrants on employability skills, workplace integration, CV writing, interview techniques, and understanding local labour markets and labour rights. 11. Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases on beneficiaries (migrants), employers, job vacancies, applications, and placements; ensure data protection and confidentiality standards are upheld. 12. Engage with public employment services, municipalities, NGOs, training institutions, and chambers of commerce to strengthen pathways to employment for migrants. 13. Provides guidance/training and assist in coordinating and monitoring work of other staff in the unit; may supervise other staff as assigned. 14. Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project. 15. Perform other relevant duties as may be assigned.
