You have:
- High school diploma with six years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in the emergency and humanitarian assistance domain.
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
- Experience supporting project implementation and monitoring.
- Experience working with specialized international agencies, including UN agencies, international organizations, and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
- Fluency in Spanish is required (oral and written).
Contract
This is a G-6 contract. This kind of contract is known as General Service and related categories. It is normally only for nationals. It usually requires 6 years of experience, depending on education. More about G-6 contracts.
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in Honduras and the direct supervision of the National Emergency Officer, and in coordination with relevant units at the Country Office, the Senior Project Associate (Emergency) will support the day-to-day coordination and implementation of the Emergency project activities of IOM Honduras, contributing to the timely delivery of activities in line with IOM procedures and donor requirements.

EDUCATION
- High school diploma with six years of relevant experience; or,

Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of Emergency project activities in line with work plans and operational priorities.
- Compile, verify, summarize and analyse project-related information and data for the supervisor’s consideration.
- Monitor budget implementation including tracking of expenditures; report variances to the supervisor.
- Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, liaising with internal units and external stakeholders to facilitate processes, obtain clearances and follow-up on actions.
- Support project monitoring by tracking progress against targets; identify delays or shortfalls and propose corrective actions to improve delivery.
- Draft correspondence and contribute to the preparation of status reports, briefing notes, visibility materials, statistical tables and other project documentation.
- Organize and support the delivery of meetings, workshops and capacity-building activities; prepare materials and provide logistical support.
- Respond to information requests and maintain organized filing systems and project records, ensuring proper documentation and accessibility of information.
- Participate in coordination meetings, workshops and conferences; maintain effective liaison with local authorities, partners, United Nations agencies, NGOs, donors and other stakeholders.
- Support the monitoring of implementing partners’ activities and report any issues or non-compliance to the supervisor.
- Provide inputs for the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), concept notes and project proposals as requested.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to field staff and project personnel; and support coordination of their work.
- Undertake duty travel as required to support project implementation, monitoring and coordination.
