The incumbent manages, advises, and reports on the entire programme, including nominating new candidates, implementing the workplans of present Goodwill Ambassadors and reporting on the achievements of their assignments. The incumbent provides strategic advice and in-house leadership in seeking new Goodwill Ambassadors, elaborating plan of actions, and overall involvement of UNESCO Honorary and Goodwill Ambassadors. The incumbent manages, advises, and reports on programme design, guidelines, resources, and progress. Long Description ---------------- Specifically, the incumbent shall: - Manage the programme of UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors in line with the United Nations Guidelines for the Designation of Messengers of Peace and Goodwill Ambassadors as well as UNESCO's Policy Framework for Strategies Partnerships: A Comprehensive Partnership Strategy. Provide advice and recommendation on nomination of new candidates for these positions, coordinate and develop plan of actions for new nominees in collaboration with programme sectors and central services and coordinate the entire process of nominations with various stakeholders in and outside of the organization. - Initiate policy development and creation for the programme of UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors according to the organization's strategies and programmes. Provide strategy advice for the programme sectors in Headquarters and in the field in seeking new Goodwill Ambassadors and/or developing programmes and activities for already nominated Goodwill Ambassadors. - Organize and take the lead in overall event planning and organizations for the Goodwill Ambassador programme. This entitles the designation ceremonies of Honorary and Goodwill Ambassadors, Annual Meetings and other events including cultural events and those aiming at awareness raising for various specific programmes, resource mobilizing or reaching out to the new target audiences. - Collaborate with and support the Media Services on media strategies and outreach efforts to maximize the global visibility of UNESCO's Goodwill Ambassadors programme.
