Result of Service

Conceptualization, planning and execution of a new global campaign, capturing voices of women and girls worldwide to empower them and enable them to share their views on global issues at prominent international events.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position is located in the UN Office for Partnerships (UN Partnerships). Guided by the priorities of the UN Secretary-General, UN Partnerships is the gateway to the UN system to connect and co-create partnerships to keep the promise of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In its role as a connector, UN Partnerships proactively engages, convenes and leverages stakeholders, initiatives and solutions in support of the Decade of Action to deliver the SDG. The incumbent will support all initiatives of the UN Partnerships and report to the Executive Director of UN Partnerships, and work closely with other members of the team.

The Senior Programme Consultant will work with the Executive Director of UN Partnerships on strategies, programme management and advocacy. The consultant will be responsible for but not limited to;

• Takes the lead to develop, implement and evaluate global campaigns, programmes/projects, etc.; lead on programme/project development, implementation, monitoring and assessment; directs review of relevant documents and reports; identifies priorities, problems and issues to be addressed and proposes corrective actions; liaises with relevant parties; identifies and initiates follow-up actions. • Conceptualization, planning and execution of a new global campaign capturing voices of women and girls worldwide to empower them and enable them to share their views on global issues at prominent international events. • Strengthen global campaigns of the Deputy Secretary General to scale up the focus on women leaders networking and convening, as well as visibility to a new style of leadership in the current global context • Directs research and programme evaluation and presents information gathered from diverse sources. • Coordinates policy development; reviews the assessments of issues and trends, preparation of evaluations or research activities and studies on gender, • Supervises preparation of various written outputs, e.g. background papers, analysis, substantial sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc. • Manages outreach activities; makes presentations on assigned topics/activities. • Coordinates activities related to budget and funding programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc. and ensures preparation of related documents/reports • Serves as an effective spokesperson and establishes collaboration and partnerships with key stakeholders inside and outside the organization. • May perform other duties as required.

Qualifications/special skills

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in political science, business administration, management, economics or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree with a minimum of fifteen years of progressive responsible experience in programme management, policy, including programme management, outreach and reporting is required. Experience in leading global campaigns on women leadership is required. Experience in conceptualizing, budgeting, promoting, and branding global campaigns is required. Experience in collaborating with governmental institutions to advance the Sustainable Development Goals is required.
