Abou****t your role and Program:

WRI India is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual, interested in solving problems of urbanization and climate change. The candidate should be passionate about climate resilient urban development and self-driven towards influencing positive change in the real world by bridging theory and practice.

The ‘Senior Associate’ will work with the Urban Development team within the Cities Program, in India. With his/her knowledge, the senior associate will assist the team in their on-going engagement with governments, nature-based solution providers and other stakeholders. The senior associate will support work in the domain of urban development and produce data analytics that will be used to create knowledge products and inform our engagements with various ecosystem stakeholders. The associate will support the vision of WRI India in building sustainable and equitable cities by - taking up research, liaising with partners, government agencies and experts, undertaking analysis and synthesising solutions towards project deliverables. The candidate should be energetic and agile, willing to respond quickly, outcome-oriented, team player and able to engage with other team members, partners, and stakeholders.

How your day will unfold

  • Manage project deliverables as per standards and expectations of WRI India.
  • Provide sound technical assistance, build relationships across teams and coordinate project activities
  • Prepare technical documents for projects including data collection, conduct surveys, compilation, analysis, write reports, develop presentations and support in project implementation
  • Coordinate with public and private sector stakeholders to get inputs on research/projects
  • Engage in communication and outreach activities related to project deliverables and the larger urban resilience agenda as and when required.

Qualifications & requirements we seek: - Master’s Degree in urban forestry, natural resources, environmental sciences, ecology, geography, climate science or urban studies/development; - 4-7 years of professional work experience in the field of urban climate change, adaptation, resilience, and or biodiversity and forestry - Ability to carry research independently as well as, part of the team - Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner - Ability to think creatively to help drive the strategy forward - Ability to take initiative, prioritize and execute in the face of competing demands and uncertainties - Strong communication skills, ability to liaise with government and other stakeholders - to collect data, communicate findings, and seek feedback iteratively - Proficiency in MS Office, statistics; ability to handle administrative tasks - Fluency in Kannada, preferable

Salary and Benefits: 11,00,000-13,00,000

Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
