The Opportunity The Senior Officer – Anticipatory Action will manage and supervise implementing partners for the ECHO-funded Anticipatory Action (AA) project under the guidance of the Manager, ensuring high-quality, result-oriented field operations. Key responsibilities include contributing to the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities, supervising field-level partner organizations, and managing the project team to achieve goals and targets. The role involves working closely with children, communities, I/NGOs, and government stakeholders, ensuring effective coordination with Anticipatory Action, DRR, and emergency response stakeholders. The Senior Officer will develop and implement advocacy strategies and communication plans for landslide hazard mitigation, national protocol establishment, and enhancement of the Early Warning System. Responsibilities also include overseeing reporting and documentation, ensuring project compliance with best practices, tracking the project budget, and guiding partners in maintaining financial records. Effective collaboration with government departments, project partners, the FbA platform, BMD, DDM, MoDMR, START Network, BDRCS, and the WFP-led OCHA AA response Consortium is crucial. Additionally, the Senior Officer will be required to deploy for emergencies as a key team player in the humanitarian sector.

Qualifications and Experience • At least 5 years’ of professional experience in programme operation preferably in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), Emergency response, Recovery and Anticipatory Action programme. • Knowledge on Core Humanitarian Standards, Humanitarian Code of Conduct, Anticipatory Action, DRR and Climate change, advocacy and campaigning. • Strategic Sourcing Strategy • Excellent skills on process facilitation and coordination with high standard • Excellent inter-personal communication skills • Good presentation skills • Master’s degree, preferably in Disaster/Crisis Management, Development Studies, International Relations, Social Science, Economics, or relevant discipline. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a professional certification in Humanitarian, Anticipatory, DRR activities.
