Result of Service - Ensure proper coordination and effective planning of mission relatives within the Mission; - Proper Implementation of Logistical Support Package of the New Mission, - Effective coordination and efficient implementation of logistical support geared to support AMISOM’s expanded operations with a view of empowering its forces towards the transition and full realization of AMISOM’s mandate aimed at the realization of relative peace in Somalia.

Duties and Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the advisor to the SRCC is responsible for the following duties:

  • Lead the AMISOM Logistical Support team participating in the Core Group comprising of the representatives of the three AMISOM components (Civilian, Military and Police);
  • Provide technical advice to SRCC towards to the implementation of the mission mandate by providing the necessary managerial, logistical and administrative support required for the fulfillment of the mandate;
  • Provide guidance, technical support to administrative and logistics support staff as well as audit and evaluation services, as appropriate;
  • Ensure cooperation and integration of administrative and logistical resources with military, police and civilian elements of the mission as required;
  • Develop together with AMISOM leadership strategies for the proper logistical Support for the New Mission;
  • Identify broad strategies required for the development and implementation of the mission support’s work programme.

Academic Qualifications: Master's degree or equivalent in Business studies, Public Administration, Finance, business administration, political/social sciences. A first level university degree, or senior command and general staff college with a relevant combination of professional qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively working experience responsible for any of the following: Administration, Support and Logistics, Financial Management and budgeting operations, or related field. Experience working with AMISOM is desirable. Language: English and French are the working language of UN. For this position, fluency in English is required.
