We are looking for a driven and committed HR Partner
This is a great opportunity to become a part of a committed and proactive HR-team, and to join a world-renowned humanitarian organisation. The primary focus of this role will be supporting, advising, and guiding line managers and employees in designated units of the Head Office (HO). The HR Partner will be part of the HO HR Unit team and have specific focus on the area of compensation & benefits, including salary analysis, negotiations, job gradings and pension.
The HO HR unit is in an exciting phase of transition, and during 2022 the new HR Partner and the rest of the HO HR team will shape the future HR support at the Head Office.
Background
The NRC Head Office HR Unit is part of the wider HR community and provides a full range of HR development and operational support to the 250 employees and managers based in the Oslo Head Office. The HO HR Unit ensures the implementation of global HR strategies, as they apply to HO, and has responsibility for the facilities management and administration of the HO premises. The HO HR unit team includes HR Coordinators, HR Partners and Head of HO HR, as well as an Office Manager and administration and front of house staff.
Responsibilities
The HR Partner plays a key role in understanding the priorities and needs of designated HO Units and translating them into HR deliveries within the framework of NRC’s HR policies and strategies. The range of deliveries include providing advice, guidance and support across relevant HR fields, such as employee relations, performance management, compensation, job grading, employee legislation and HSE. The HR Partner is responsible for ensuring that NRC’s HR policies and strategies are implemented and in accordance with Norwegian labour law and NRC’s strategies.
As a HR Partner you will:
- Prepare, initiate and ensure implementation of HR initiatives according to overall strategy and unit needs.
- Provide legal and practical advice to HO line managers on HR-related issues, e.g. individual employment cases, performance management, time management, conflict management
- Develop strong interorganizational relations and maintain a proactive dialogue with line managers, staff and union representatives
- Provide specific knowledge within the topics of compensation & benefits, including pension and annual salary negotiations.
- Advise HO line managers on workforce planning, recruitment and organisational changes
- Initiate, prepare and run union processes
- Contribute to development of the onboarding process of new HO staff
- Contribute to relevant projects, groups and forums
- Ensure compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
- Share best practises on operative HR issues with other HR colleagues in NRC

Qualifications, experience and qualities:
- Experienced HR Professional with expertise in a range of different HR disciplines, including recruitment, work force planning, performance management, employee engagement, employment relations and legislation, handling disputes
- Minimum 5 years of relevant HR experience within a large, complex and preferably global organisation
- Experience with compensation and benefit processes, inc. salary negotiations
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Fluency in Norwegian and English, both written and oral
- High level of flexibility and ability to prioritize
- Professional, proactive and positive attitude, team spirit and agile work style
- Analytical and solution oriented
