You have:
- Undergraduate degree required or equivalent years of education and related work experience
- Financial Coaching certification strongly preferred
- At least 2 years of experience with financial education, counseling and coaching
- Proven experience in supervising paid or unpaid staff
- Previous experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds
- High level of familiarity with U.S. credit and banking system and experience with personal budgeting, banking, debt navigation, and credit counseling; experience in loan processing a bonus
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of attention to detail and digital literacy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to make presentations
- Ability to work independently, be a self-starter and lead multiple tasks
- Proficiency in a refugee language (especially Arabic, Farsi/Dari, or Pashto) required
Staff Management:
- Provide leadership, development support and supervision to direct service staff by leading team meetings; providing individual supervision, coaching and goal setting; managing workload and prioritizing tasks; and helping staff troubleshoot challenges. - Ensure compliance of self and financial capabilities team with all policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency.
Client Services:
- Assist clients in assessing and resolving current financial challenges, while providing a wide lens on their financial health to shift the approach to proactive financial management - Work with the Financial Capabilities team to ensure that any changes to clients CFA (new job, new benefit, and change in credit score) are properly documented in relevant systems. - Capture client success stories - Develop workshop materials or tailor existing materials to meet the needs of the community. Workshop topics should be relevant to the community, and may include topics such as: budgeting, savings, banking products, credit building, and identity theft. - Provide one-on-one financial coaching to clients and assist with consumer loan underwriting; - Ensure all eligible clients receive quality service, timely follow-up, and referrals to other IRC programs as appropriate; - Coordinate, and seamlessly integrate financial education workshops on budgeting, banking, U.S. credit system, higher education debt, credit repair, and debt navigation, for all applicable cohort-based training. - Administer pre- and post-assessments;
Program Oversight:
- Ensure all programs fulfill funder and agency requirements for documentation, case files, data tracking and other areas of administrative compliance; - Monitor progress towards programmatic performance requirements and encourage the employment team towards these goals. This includes program implementation, oversight, monitoring and evaluation for all grants in the portfolio; - Produce high-quality program reports for IRC headquarters and funders in a timely manner, as assigned by supervisor; - Support the management of the Efforts to Outcome (ETO) and Salesforce case management database, including uploading client data and being responsible for the monthly entry and review of staffs financial literacy data; - Play lead role in cross-department eligibility and enrollment processes across all CFO programs to ensure clients are enrolled into CiA to receive all relevant services and ensuring Financial Literacy is well integrated across programs; - Collaborate closely with relevant community partners and funders; - Participate in all program meetings and staff development activities; - Follow all policies, procedures and protocols of the agency; - Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education: Undergraduate degree required; or mix of equivalent years of education and related work experience;
- Financial Coaching certification strongly preferred; - At least 2 years of experience with financial education, counseling and coaching; - Proven experience in supervising paid or unpaid staff; - Previous experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds; - Previous experience working in County-funded projects strongly preferred; - High level of familiarity with U.S. credit and banking system and experience with personal budgeting, banking, debt navigation, and credit counseling; experience in loan processing a bonus; - Proven ability to communicate well with people of multifaceted backgrounds; - High level of comfort, functioning and efficiency in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams; - Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of attention to detail and digital literacy; - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to make presentations; - Ability to work independently, be a self-starter and lead multiple tasks; - Comfortability delivering training and coaching through a distant learning platform; - Proficiency in a refugee language (especially Arabic, Farsi/Dari, or Pashto) required;
Working Environment:
- Hybrid: At home with reliable internet and standard, professional office environment at least two days per week; - Regular travel to off-site locations is required; - Office’s hours are scheduled as Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm in both in the City Heights and El Cajon offices; Some weekend or evening hours may be required; - Access to a reliable vehicle to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area.
Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirement
