Job Description

Senior Finance Officer in Amman Office supervises the day-to-day finance operations. He/she works with the Deputy Finance Controller in the maintenance and oversight of the accounting operations to ensure that all finance operations in Amman are performed in accordance with IRC and country office policy and procedures.

Responsibilities:

- Compliance check of finance documents/transactions for payment to ensure that all payments are approved as per the authority Matrix. Also to make sure that all payments are processed within 5 working days. - Focal person for per Diem and Consultant payments. To ensure that these payments are processed within 5 working days. - Prepare All Required JVs on monthly basis for Month end closing. - Preparation of the allocation for all staff every month. - Preparation of the intercompany report every month. - Preparation of the 2930 NY report every month. - Preparation of the SPCA/SPCE/ and all Pools allocation every month. - To represent Finance team in bid opening meeting. - Deal with HQ communications and as instructed from the supervisor. - Follow up on the PRTS with the concerned staff from SC and other departments on closing grants to assure all expenses has been captured and reported. - To update Balance sheet reconciliation, and ensure that there are no long outstanding balances. Also to provide justification and expected clearance date for outstanding balances. - To establish good coordination with Supply Chain, HR and Program department in Coordination with other departments establish the workflow and deadlines for timely submission of the payments documents. - Help in audit process for submitting documents to auditors and assisting all audit processes with Senior Finance Manager. - Participating in the monthly closing by supporting Senior Finance Manager for any task required. - Preparing accruals JV’s for the month closing. - Overtime check and JV preparation every month. - Assisting in the supervision of the finance Amman staff and WoS Finance Team - Any other task assigned by the supervisor(s)

Staff Performance Management, Learning & Development

- Hire, supervise, and build the capacity of team members in relevant technical and management competencies. - Develop and implement remote management capacity building approaches to build the strengths the teams teams in Syria. - Coach, train, supervise and mentor direct-report staff, including communicating clear expectations, setting annual performance objectives, providing regular and timely positive and constructive performance feedback, and providing documented semi-annual performance reviews. - Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions. - Approve and manage time, attendance and leave requests to ensure adequate departmental coverage; ensure monthly, accurate timesheet submission and carry out probationary reviews. - Hold high-quality meetings with each direct report on a regular and predictable basis, minimally on a monthly basis. - Provide a measurable development plan including on-the-job learning with the aim of strengthening technical capacity, exchanging knowledge within the team and providing guidance on career paths. - As required, identify staff performance issues and work with Human Resources to document and address these in accordance with the National Staff Employment Policies. - Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions. - Promote and monitor staff care and well-being. Model healthy work-life balance practices. Support appropriate interventions in response to identified staff care needs of both national and international staff. - Look for opportunities to support staff in their career growth, where appropriate. As part of succession plan and nationalization goals, identify, train and develop capability and capacity of national staff to successfully transition role and responsibilities, by the end of assignment.

Qualifications

- At least 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience of Accounting and Finance - Working in INGO will be preferred.

Language/Travel:

- English is required (writing / Speaking ) and Arabic language. - Travel: this position lets you be able to Travel outside the country.
