Overview

Supervise and support emergency response activities.

You have:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum three years of experience working with local or international NGOs in emergency programming.
• Good project management skills, including budget monitoring.
• At least two years of demonstrated experience managing staff.
• Experience in building networks and working with a variety of stakeholders.
• Familiarity with the local province’s context, culture, traditions, and its sensitiveness.
• Knowledge of gender, protection, and diversity issues in humanitarian programming.
• High knowledge of MS Office package.
• Strong communication skills; fluency in Dari, Pashto, and English required.
• Ability to cope with stress, work under difficult circumstances, and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility and willingness to relocate at short notice, outside the normal areas of operation.

Job Description

· In charge of supervising day-to-day project activities (planning and response) at field-level

· Conduct regular field visits in assessment/distribution locations to assess quality of programming

· Ensure proper analysis and reporting of program activities and indicators, including drafting of project reports, in line with project proposals

· Follow-up project-related issues and challenges so these are addressed in a timely manner

· Supervise, guide, and support ER Officers on their daily tasks, in line with established work plans.

· Provide trainings and orientation on ER tools, guidelines, and SoPs to all team members.

· Ensure updates and decisions from management are timely communicated to field staff.

· Regularly participate in cluster meetings, OCTs, and other emergency ad-hoc meetings, and provide updates to the Program Management Team for further decision-making.

· Support in the identification of funding opportunities by assessing local needs for life-saving interventions.

· Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders, including community leaders, government departments, NGOs, community-based organisations and other IRC sectors to enhance cooperation, coordination, and referral pathway systems.

Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum three years of experience working with local or international NGOs in emergency programming (ex: winterization, NFI, and Shelter).

· Good project management skills, including budget monitoring, analysis of data, and report writing.

· At least two (2) years of demonstrated experience managing staff.

· Experience in building networks and working with a variety of stakeholders, such as government bodies, NGOs, and communities

· Familiarity with the local province’s context, culture, traditions and its sensitiveness

· Knowledge of gender, protection, and diversity issues in humanitarian programming

· High knowledge of MS Office package

· Strong communication skills; fluency in Dari, Pashto, and English required

· Ability to cope with stress, work under difficult circumstances, and meet deadlines
