Result of Service Methodology The Senior eDiscovery Consultant will work in close cooperation with UNITAD’s various service providers and will be part of the Information Systems Unit (ISU), in the Office of Evidence Management (OEM). The methodological approach to this consultancy will be one of collaboration between the consultant and ISU, with the consultant taking overall responsibility for the agreed deliverables within the timeframe of the contract.

This consultancy is renewable subject to the operational needs of UNITAD and the availability of funding, and the successful completion of this initial contract. Expected duration The methodology will therefore include approximately the following time commitment, to be allocated appropriately based on the consultant’s individual plans to deliver the items outlined in the following section: - 8 Months

Duties and Responsibilities Background This position is located within the United Nations Investigative Team for Accountability of Da'esh / ISIL (UNITAD) and will be home- based. The Senior eDiscovery Consultant reports to the Information Systems Officer, P-4. The United Nations Investigative Team to promote accountability for crimes committed by Da'esh / ISIL (UNITAD) was established by the Secretary-General pursuant to Security Council resolution 2379 (2017), to support domestic efforts to hold ISIL (Da'esh) accountable by collecting, preserving and storing evidence in Iraq related to acts that may amount to war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide committed by the terrorist group ISIL (Da'esh).

Purpose and Responsibilities The Senior eDiscovery Consultant will support UNITAD and its Information Systems Unit on its various eDiscovery applications architecture and workflows.

Responsibilities of the Senior eDiscovery Consultant will include the following elements: Assist UNITAD with the configuration of its electronic data in RelativityOne  Lead and provide guidance on the migration process of various data types and volumes to RelativityOne.  Review and provide guidance on best practices for platform configuration and workspace creation  Develop standard operating procedures for the use of RelativityOne  Ensure a high-level of compliance with established workflows and procedures  Provide training and support for RelativityOne to internal and external stakeholders  Implement change and control mechanisms for RelativityOne workflows  Monitor and evaluate RelativityOne development cycles to understand the impact of new features on processes and procedures  Act as a RelativityOne case administrator where required

Lead the integration process of eDiscovery applications: Rampiva and Passware  Configure and integrate new systems into existing workflows and data handling processes  Develop and document data processing workflows for use by internal stakeholders in accordance with the Section’s project management framework.  Design and implement standard operating procedures for data flow through various systems  Implement change and control mechanisms for workflows and processes

Performs evidence handling with the use of Nuix and Rampiva applications  Configure and integrate new systems into existing workflows and data handling  Develop and document data processing workflows for use by internal stakeholders in accordance with the Section’s project management framework.  Providing training on eDiscovery and its tools for both internal and external stakeholders  Act as a case administrator of processing tools where required

Leads operational aspects of system design, evaluation and eDiscovery application support  In accordance with the Section's project management framework, design UNITADs eDiscovery protocols  Managing data ingestion, processing, and indexing of registered material and populating review and analysis systems  Establishing efficient procedures regarding the review of evidence and information  Define, implement, and maintain an end-to-end data model that supports efficient information flow within evidence handling business processes and enforces the provenance of collected material and confidential classifications  Develops eDiscovery requirements and workflows, including technical specifications for data harvesting and processing as well as required formats for the transfer of data  Develops and implements tools and systems for forensic preservation and analysis of information and evidence

Assist with developing custom RelativityOne applications to meet business demands  Leverage RelativityOne custom objects to store and retrieve advanced data types and structures  Consider ways in which existing workflows may be enhanced through development within the RelativityOne environment  Work within the RelativityOne development environment to prototype and build solutions to hand complex data workflows

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: A first-level university degree in computer science, information science, information systems, or related field. Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience working in complex eDiscovery setting such as service provider, law firm, or international organizations. At least 3 years of experience working with Relativity and Nuix software and one year of administering a RelativityOne environment. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in preparing technical specifications, mapping business processes, and building custom applications. In addition, the candidate must have prior experience with the following applications, services, and practices: - eDiscovery data migration - RelativityOne - Nuix Workstation - PowerApps - C# or JavaScript or Python

A. Other requirements The Senior eDiscovery Consultant will hold the following accreditations: - Relativity Certified Administrator - RelativityOne Certified Administrator - Nuix eDiscovery Certified Advanced knowledge of the data model of the Azure applications (Video Indexer and Machine Translation) is also desirable. Language: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
