Contract

This is a G-3 contract. This kind of contract is known as General Service and related categories. It is normally only for nationals. It usually requires 3 years of experience, depending on education. More about G-3 contracts.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

Through its Operational Support Services (OSS) ASU provides high quality, consistent and responsive administrative services focusing on delivering key services essential for the day-to-day operations

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

  1. Drives office vehicles for official transport of staff and official visitors to various authorized locations within and outside the city.
  2. Facilitates arrival and departure clearance procedures at the airport for staff members and official visitors. Arranging for the opening of VIP hall and all related formalities. Submits requests to Cairo Immigration Authority and follow up on the issuance of entry visas and residency for official visitors and family members.
  3. Handles and follows up on the requests submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the privileges granted through the Host Agreement. This includes but not limited to MOFA ID, import clearance certificates, purchase and sale of diplomatic cars, etc…
  4. Delivery/collection and customs clearance of shipment/cargo, official incoming and outgoing pouches. Transportation/hand delivery of documents, invoices, mail, parcels and other heavy items to or from UN Agencies, Ministries, Universities, libraries, hotels, printing shops, transport agencies, railway station, airport, etc…
  5. Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle, checks fuel, oil, coolant, battery, breaks, tiers, etc… performs minor repairs and ensures the proper functioning and cleaning of the vehicle.
  6. Logs official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc and provides a monthly report on consumption and maintenance cost.
  7. Ensures compliance with WHO rules and regulations in case of involvement in an accident.
  8. Replaces other driver during leave or absence and performs all their assigned duties.
  9. Performs other related duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: Completion of secondary school education or equivalent. Must possess a valid Egyptian professional driving license for the light and heavy duty vehicles Desirable:

Experience

Essential: At least two years professional experience driving cars and heavy duty vehicles Desirable: Related experience WHO/UN agencies

Skills

  • Technical and Mechanical knowledge and skills pertaining to the car and its upkeep
  • Good knowledge of the streets of the city and being acquainted with dense traffic locations and related problems.
  • Excellent knowledge of traffic rules and regulations

REMUNERATION

WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at EGP 151,956 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
