You have:

  • A minimum of two years demonstrated experience in economics, public policy, management consulting, international development, or health systems strengthening.
  • Excellent analytic and research skills (qualitative and quantitative).
  • Good knowledge of programme management tools and techniques.

  • Ability to deliver results in complex and challenging environments.
  • Fluency in English and a working knowledge of additional languages (Arabic, French, Portuguese) is desirable.
  • Good knowledge and application of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PPT) and other relevant software and tools (e.g., think cell).

Role Summary

TBI's Health Institutional Capacity Strengthening programme is designed to improve the effectiveness of health institutions in addressing public health issues and pandemics. The programme's main objective is to enhance the capacity of these institutions and empower their staff to successfully deliver on their mandates and responsibilities.

The programme acknowledges the crucial role that health institutions play in advancing public health outcomes, especially in light of emerging health threats. Through the strengthening of institutional capacity, the programme seeks to enable health institutions to proficiently strategize, execute, and coordinate public health interventions. Additionally, it aims to enhance their ability to respond to emergencies, conduct research, and provide evidence-based guidance to policymakers.

The Senior Delivery Analyst will provide comprehensive support to the HICS Senior Manager and Delivery Advisors throughout the project's implementation.

This is a one-year fixed-term position, with the potential for a one-year extension.

Key Responsibilities

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­The key responsibilities of the role include:

Workstream management support

  • Support the management of the workstreams from start to finish, including timelines, content, and deliverables
  • Support the Advisors with planning and facilitation of workstream related meetings with counterparts, routines and engagements

Delivery Support

  • Support the project team in the development of reports, presentations and other relevant documents
  • Conduct relevant research and acquire/analyse data to support the project’s workstreams and deliverables
  • Conduct robust data analysis and synthesis and present results in a compelling manner

Evaluative support

  • Support evaluation of strategies, frameworks and activities to ensure progress and intervention effectiveness – understanding and challenging key findings from this research
  • Where applicable work with the Monitoring and Evaluation Team to develop interview guides and interview selected stakeholders
  • Proactively identify issues affecting workstream delivery, propose solutions and promptly communicate them to Delivery Advisors.
  • Support the successful development and delivery of project goals and deliverables

General support

  • Any other duties as assigned by Delivery Advisors
  • Support the team’s wider knowledge management system ensuing it is effective and fit for purpose

Person Specification

We are looking for individuals with high levels of enthusiasm, drive, resilience, a can-do attitude and ability to consistently achieve results in a fast-paced environment. This is a role in a fast paced team, working within complex policy areas that are highly scrutinised.

Therefore, the successful candidate for the role should be able to display the majority of the following:

  • A minimum of two years demonstrated experience in economics, public policy, management consulting, international development, health systems strengthening, etc.
  • Excellent analytic and research skills (qualitative and quantitative) and a good knowledge of programme management tools and techniques
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • An ability to deliver results in complex and challenging environments, to learn fast and go the extra mile
  • An ability to operate and succeed in a highly political environment
  • An ability to work independently with an acute attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
  • An ability to communicate fluently in English. It would be desirable to have a working knowledge of additional languages (Arabic, French, Portuguese)
  • Self-starter, motivated and proactive with solutions
  • Good knowledge and application of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PPT) and other relevant software and tools (e.g., think cell)

The successful candidate can expect to acquire excellent consulting and presentation skills, a better understanding of strategic planning and organizational development, and to further develop their problem-solving abilities.
