MANDATE OF THE DEPARTMENT: The purpose of the Change Management Team is to lead, coordinate and advocate for the UNAIDS change agenda in order to deliver against the Global AIDS Strategy, 2021-2026. The team enables organizational and cultural change by developing a platform, tools and communications to engage and support staff by implementing Alignment and the UNAIDS change agenda. It transparently monitors and communicates change results in keeping with the UNAIDS goals of an equal, safe and empowering organization. The team also facilitates, supports, catalyzes and communicates UNAIDS progress towards greater gender equality, diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility at the structural, non-structural and cultural levels. Main tasks and Responsibilities of the Position: Under the direct supervision of the Director Change-Management and with matrixed management from the Director of Communications the incumbent has the following responsibilities:

Lead and play a key role in translating organization's vision and policies, developing and implementing strategic and tactical communication and advocacy strategies to ensure engagement and visibility of the communications agenda; Proactively advise new initiatives with positioning, writing, identifying needs and platforms; Lead crisis communication strategies; Lead internal communication function at UNAIDS, including development of an internal communications strategy, recruitment and management of the team and resources. Manage introduction or reform of communication tools and channels; Manage the internal communications team including providing strategic guidance and review on core products; Proactively advise and lead the day-to-day support on internal communications to the Director Change-management, Director Management and, where appropriate, the Cabinet; Review all communications to ensure policy coherence, consistency and support good positioning; Play a pivotal role in conceptualizing, writing and managing the development of policy, outreach and advocacy communication materials and reports and their dissemination across a wide range of channels; Promote and develop communications of the UNAIDS Secretariat with the Joint Programme and with PCB; Advise and brief staff across the Secretariat on the policy and advocacy related communications, content, presentation and soliciting of contributions; Perform other related responsibilities as assigned, including replacing and backstopping for other department staff. With the delegated authority, to represent the Director Change-Management Undertake related assignments as required by the Director Change-Management, the Director of Communications and the Cabinet of UNAIDS. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Advanced University degree at Master's level or equivalent in social sciences, communications, public health, development, economics, public administration or management. For internal candidates only, a first university degree and 12 years of relevant professional experience will be considered equivalent. Competencies: UNAIDS Values 1. Exercising Sound Judgement Experience: Ten (10) years' of professional and demonstrated experience working with governments, the United Nations system or other international bodies in the development and implementation of communication strategies, advocacy and change- communication. Experience in project management, key AIDS related issues, health advocacy and staff engagement. Demonstrated experience in writing on AIDS, health and development related issues and in addressing issues of organizational culture transformation (gender, diversity, equity and inclusion). Languages: Essential: Advanced knowledge of English. Desirable: Good working knowledge of another UN official language. Additional Information: UNAIDS highly values candidates who have lived experience or have experience in working with and supporting networks of people living with HIV/AIDS and key populations as highly desirable.

Positions at the international professional category within UNAIDS will be subject to the Organization's Mobility Policy. The abovementioned position is a rotational position, and its standard duration of assignment is linked to the ICSC hardship classification of the duty station. Annual salary: (Net of tax) USD 92,731 at single rate Post Adjustment: 86.7 % of the figure(s) on the left side. This percentage is to be considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards or downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation. - - - - - -
