This is a G-7 contract. This kind of contract is known as General Service and related categories. It is normally only for nationals. It usually requires 7 years of experience, depending on education. More about G-7 contracts.

Under the close supervision of the Communication Officer, the Digital Media Associate will support to develop, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate a digital media strategy that is dynamic and engaging and aligned with the Communication and Advocacy Strategy, with the aim of promoting the respect for the rights of children, youth and women, mobilizing public support of UNICEF’s mission in Serbia through digital channels, and enhancing the organizations’ credibility and brand among digital audiences.

Key functions and accountabilities:

Within the delegated authority and under the given organizational set-up, the incumbent may be assigned the primary, shared, or contributory accountabilities for all or part of the following areas of major duties and key end-results:

  1. Support developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the CO’s digital communication strategy to meet organizational goals,
  2. Support planning, developing and implementing the CO’s social media presence, in line with UN and UNICEF policies and procedures,
  3. Update, maintain and monitor the CO’s website for reliability, consistency, quality and up-to-date information to increase traffic and effectiveness,
  4. Support monitoring of and reporting on digital and social media presence and results,
  5. Support capacity building,
  6. Perform any other related duties and responsibilities assigned as required.

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

  • Secondary school degree. University level degree in social sciences, marketing, journalism, communication, or any other related field of discipline relevant to the job is an asset.
  • At least seven years of relevant professional work experience in content management, as well as maintaining and coordinating digital and social media channels.
  • Knowledge of current theories and practices in digital communication research planning and strategy.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of working in various media formats – print, audio, video, web, etc.
  • Experience in planning, implementing and assessing social media strategies.
  • Expertise in graphic design for digital media purposes and creation of infographics and presentations (Photoshop, Canva, PSD, AI or similar).
  • Basic or intermediate knowledge of Adobe Premiere or other editing programme.
  • Experience in reporting on qualitative and quantitative analytics using management tools of social networks (Hootsuite, Tweet Deck, Later, Icon Square, Google Analytics).
  • Experience in the use of content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress and Drupal. Knowledge of Drupal will be considered as an asset.
  • A high level of ethical awareness and integrity.
  • A result-driven attitude with the ability to manage ambiguity.
  • Work experience in an international organization or UN agency is desirable.
  • Fluency in Serbian and English languages is required.
