You have:
- Bachelor's degree or master's degree in social work or related field
- 3 to 4 years experience in child protection
- Strong experience in delivering and facilitating training programs
- Strong knowledge of child protection and the juvenile justice system in Lebanon
- Strong communication skills
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Advocacy skills in child protection and child rights
Job Description
The Senior Capacity Building Officer who will be working under the SCO project to conduct trainings on Child Protection and related topics. His /Her role will include:
- Preparation and organization of meetings and discussion with different stakeholders such as municipality members, lawyers, legal prosecutors, judges, partner staff and other community members. - Training delivery on Child protection and access to justice to the Judicial staff in North Lebanon and to our Partners. - Coaching for the case worker in Tripoli and related case management work. - Train, coach and supervise the local partners under the Access to Justice program. - Develop the detailed implementation plans for the internal IRC staff and the partners. - Identify the new needs and trends in the field, and develop trainings based on that with close coordination with the access to justice manager. - Reporting and M&E.
Major responsibilities:
The scope of work for the Senior Capacity Building Officer will be as follows:
Technical:
- The CM capacity building officer will be organizing and delivering trainings during the project duration. The topics of the trainings should be discussed and prepared with the IRC Access to Justice Manager. Training topics will be around transparency, access to justice for children and accountability to children, Clinical Management of Rape, Physical Examinations and Forensic testing, Child friendly skills, and child rights and other child protection topics. - Design trainings package for community stake holders from different backgrounds, such as municipal police, lawyers, ISF members, etc. - Set timely training plans based on identified needs for the partners and community stakeholders in the areas of the intervention. - Raise all the training materials and plans to the Access to Justice manager for his/her review and approval prior putting them into action. - Deliver trainings to the CP partners and community stakeholders in the areas of the intervention. - Conduct weekly monitoring visits to the partners activities sites and share documented feedback on the visits with the partners. - Provide technical support and on Job coaching to CP local partners implementing PSS activities for children and caregivers in the areas of intervention. - Liaise closely with the Access to Justice manager and senior Monitoring and Evaluation officer to develop M & E tools needed for trainings and other capacity building activities, (trainings pre/posttests, observation tools, database, training evaluation forms etc.…). - Work closely with the Senior M&E officer to support the CP partner’s capacity on M&E.
Other
- Liaise with the CP admin officer to ensure that all logistical requirements for the trainings are finalized. - Build strong relationships with local partners, through maintaining mutual respect and vision. - Participate in development of lessons learned and best practices. - Assume full responsibility for tracking individual participants in training databases, and ensure data entered is accurate and up to date. - Assume full responsibility for all relevant monitoring and evaluation activities (capacity building reports, training evaluation reports, Pre – Posttest Analysis reports, etc...) - Document all trainings, workshops and field visits using the appropriate tools - Report data and draft narrative reports in a timely manner. - Participate in team meeting and partner meetings with the Access to Justice project manager. - Other CP activities as requested by the supervisor.
Internal coordination: Coordinate with the IRC Child Protection case management unit in Tripoli, senior child protection manager, quality and implementation manager, coaching manager and the capacity building officers vis a vis trainings and coaching activities.
Key Working Relationships: Position Reports to: Access to Justice Manager.
Qualifications
- Education: bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in social work or related field. - Work experience: 3 to 4 years in working in child Protection. - Strong experience in delivering and facilitating training programs. - Strong knowledge Child Protection and of the Juvenile justice system in Lebanon, and preferable strong experience in case management as well. - Strong communication skills. - Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English. - Staunch advocate of child protection and child rights.
