Overview

Develop and implement staff safety and management strategy.

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Law, Security Management, General Management, or in a related field; HEAT, SAINT or other similar security certification.
  • 4 years-experience working for NGO or UN in fragile contexts.
  • 3 years managerial and/or technical experience dealing with security analysis and/or management with UN and/or INGOs.
  • Radio and/or Satellite phone communications experience, operations and management.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering security training.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure (particularly in a crisis situation).
  • Ability to communicate well in English (verbal and written) – particularly in a crisis situation.
  • Preferred Somali speaker.
  • Valid Passport and international Driver’s License.
  • Documentation of a clear criminal record.
  • Preferred First Aid qualified.
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Preferred experience using project management, data visualization and/or Power-BI backed platforms.
  • Practical knowledge of tools, mechanisms and procedures for personal and organizational security.
  • Must behave in a professional manner at all times and demonstrate ability to represent the organization at inter agency meetings.
  • Demonstrated personal values, attitudes and behaviors that are consistent with World Vision Core Values.

Security Manager

The Role:

The position holder will develop and implement staff safety and management strategy for World Vision Somalia. She/he will also Collect, collate and analyze information about the operating environment, including security and political economy information for contextual awareness and enable decision-support and provide security updates to field and senior leadership teams and develop dissemination channels to keep staff informed of evolving context. The incumbent will ensure World Vision’s Core Security Requirements are contextualized and implemented. Collaborate with other departments to develop safety and security procedures and implement operational models to safeguard World Vision staff, partners, contractors and assets.

Essential:

Working Environment:

The position will be based in Mogadishu, Somalia.
