You have:

  • 5-7 years of experience in programme or project design, implementation, financial management, monitoring, evaluation and report writing.
  • Bachelor's degree in development, social science, gender, management, or related field. Masters preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication - fluency in English required.
  • Strong planning, organisational and project management skills
  • Ability to work gracefully under pressure.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Sector Manager for Gender & Child Protection will manage the implementation of all projects to be on time, on budget, and on targets (meeting desired outcomes). S/he is also expected to establish and nurture partnerships with relevant Solomon Islands Government ministries and institutions, donors, churches, and all relevant development partners, in coordination with Operations Manager. S/he directly supervises Grant Managers and Coordinators to guide and support all project implementation under this sector.

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-7 years of experience in programme or project design, implementation, financial management, monitoring, evaluation and report writing, required.
  • Previous experience working in the respective sector
  • Experience in report writing
  • Experience in managing multiple projects at the same time
  • Bachelor’s degree in development, social science, gender, management, or related field. Masters preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication - fluency in English required.
  • Thorough knowledge of respective sector
  • Relational skills, especially in a cross-cultural environment
  • Strong planning, organisational and project management skills and ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks.
  • Program-related financial planning and management skills
  • Ability to work gracefully under pressure.
  • Knowledge of report writing
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with national and international staff and a passion for capacity building & organisational development.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office or similar database, email and Internet, Virtual Meetings on Skype, Zoom, MS Teams.
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems, persuade, network and negotiate.
