Overview

Contribute to strengthen family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction.

You have:

  • University degree Applied Social Sciences, according to the CAPES table of areas of knowledge
  • Minimum of 08 (eight) years of experience in research related to the themes of Public Policies aimed at Family Farming
  • Working knowledge of English and Portuguese
  • National of Brazil or resident of the country with valid work permit

Organizational Setting

UTF/BRA/089/BRA The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.

Reporting Lines

The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil – Programme.

Technical Focus

Elaboration of a Diagnosis of ATER Calls for Sociobiodiversity (2019-2025) and an Operational Manual guiding processes for monitoring, evaluation and systematization of experiences linked to ATER calls and other transfer instruments.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Hold meetings with internal teams of the General Coordination of Sociobiodiversity - CGSOCIOBIO, which are: i. Coordination of Structuring and Promotion of Sociobiodiversity, ii. Coordination of Support to Biomes and Territories and iii. Coordination of Productive Forests, necessary for the elaboration of products; • Carry out mapping and technical visits to collect information that subsidizes the preparation of the contracted products • Map and carry out research in order to raise subsidies for the preparation of the contracted products; • Prepare studies and carry out technical visits to collect and collect subsidies, with other ministries that have internal applications for management and systematization of information, database. • Tenchical participation in meetings and present the results of the products to the managers and coordinators of CGSOCIOBIO/DDTS/SFDT, whenever requested; • Collect data in Brazilian parliament systems, systematize information and support the organizatiion of meetings with managers responsible for ATER calls and/or parliamentarians who made parliamentary amendments available for PCts, ATER; • Techical support in national and international events: seminars, workshops, meetings and gatherings on related topics; • Hold Technical meeting with parliamentarians and managers that enable the qualification of the analyses to be carried out.
