NRC resumed operations in Sudan in 2020, providing humanitarian assistance, protection, and durable solutions. Our country programme integrates all of NRC’s six core competencies (camp management, education, ICLA, livelihoods, shelter, and WASH), and provides a rapid response capacity (including for the recent refugee emergency in eastern Sudan), and thematic capacities for cash and markets-based approaches, advocacy, digital modes of assistance, and co-leading various technical and strategic coordination platforms.

Role Specific Information

The following is a brief description of the role.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all suppliers are verified by Watch dog before payment.
  • Ensure that all financial and other documents are clearly and correctly stamped (with donor stamp if applicable) and “paid” stamp before archiving.
  • Assist in both internal and external risk assessments
  • Ensure that all support documents are complete and accurate before the financial transaction is done
  • Scan accounting documents from 2022 according to NRC filing Tree
  • Renaming the documentation according to the SSDI file naming guidelines
  • File the renamed files in the O365 Shared Folders
  • Check and certify the documentation, the Purchase Request, the quotations, Purchase Order invoice, receipt payment request, Vouchers and proof of payment;
  • Check that the accounting documents presented are original and with all the usual indications;
  • Verification of vouchers according to the NRC “check List”;
  • Reconciliation of vouchers with the transaction list to ensure that all parts are available
  • Lead the development of the reconciliation of deliverables for all NRC in Sudan
  • Regular contacts with the field offices to ensure that documents are scanned and filed accordingly
  • Setup , collect and make sure that all time sheets for all staff are signed and properly archived in O365
  • Prepare all audit documents and ensure their correctness at all times
  • Help in the organization of anticorruption training sessions and development of corruption risk maps
  • Contribute to organizational learning and development in compliance and anti-corruption at the NRC by sharing learning, experience and best practices with other compliance and anti-corruption practitioners across the NRC
  • Prepare and share a monthly compliance report with clear action points on work progress
  • Effectively capture electronic and paper documents of different formats in a central repository.
  • Storing information in an organized manner, with an ability to easily retrieve relevant document information, and archive historical data.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience from working as a Support Function Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge of English
