Background and Objective** Under the overall authority and the direct supervision of the Director of the Regional Office of UNESCO in San Jose, Costa Rica, the incumbent provides consultancy services in compliance with the UNESCO rules and regulations, practices, standards, and procedures to strategize, coordinate and provide assistance and support in implementing the resource mobilization efforts of the UNESCO Office in San Jose. Long Description ---------------- **RESPONSIBILITY** • Identify niche areas, and partnership opportunities with bilateral and multilateral donors and private sector partners • Institute a system for the regular identification of donor intelligence • Prospect for new partners and donors aligned with UNESCO’s priorities and values and constantly update the donor mapping in the resource mobilization plan. • Support the office in developing a constant pipeline of impactful proposals aligned with UNESCO’s programme and budget and follow up on their progress with programme staff • Support the director in positioning UNESCO as a privileged partner to sectoral ministries and other programme stakeholders • Participate in external meetings to identify fundraising opportunities and other thematic groupings of technical and financial partners • Conceptualize and organize donor meetings • Carry out other donor outreach as relevant • Provide advice and support to programme staff in the development of short concept notes for the initial donor approach, and adapt and finalise the concept note to reflect inputs and guidance from donors and partners • Provide advice and support to programme staff in the development of draft full-fledged proposals • Support the proposal submission process including all necessary coordination and clearance steps within the Organization (liaison with concerned entities at headquarters, etc.) **CONTRACT DURATION** The duration of the contract will, tentatively, be for a period of 6 months, from 10/07/2024.
