This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Director (D2) of the Division for Specialized Operational Support (DSOS) or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Resource Mobilization Officer will:

Support UNDSS in formulating its Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Strategy. This will include:

  • Mapping of historic and potential donors in both the public and private sector and their current institutional funding priorities and requirements. Including:
  1. Mapping of organizations and Member States that have supported UNDSS in the past.
  2. Mapping of new potential strategic partners, identification of their priorities / interest topics, as well as their decision-making processes and timelines.
  3. Identification of strategic longer-term partnership opportunities.
  4. Identification of opportunities for in-kind support.
  • Drafting of Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Strategy.
  • Developing related Action Plan to approach different partners.
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Educational additional comments

A Bachelor’s degree with minimum 4 years of relevant work experience is required. Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Communication, Social Marketing or other relevant fields to resource mobilization is desirable.

Experience remark

Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience: proven resource mobilization or social marketing experiences; experience in writing material for partnerships/resource mobilization, including project proposals and promotional material.

Prior experience in resource mobilization for the United Nations or another international or development organization will be considered an asset.

Language skills

  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent

Fluency in spoken and written English is required; working knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
