Selected Online Volunteers may work in team to follow the development of a solar PV project for a rural village in India. Project Development work has already been done and for the realization of project implementation, Online Volunteers are expected to do thorough research on meeting the financial and legal needs of the project. This may include locating technical and commercial companies/institutions or agencies those are dealing with solar panel installations. Also coordinating communication with the Distribution Company (E.g Maha DISCOM) may needed. Research on external aids of the project should also be taken care by some of the selected Online Volunteers which may consist of task such as knowing bank policies, permission procedures from electricity departments, legal documentations needed etc.

• Energy, environment and sustainable natural resources management

  Our organization is UNEP and UNCCD accredited organization working on sustainable environmental solutions. Implementation of Affordable and Clean Energy is in our mission and to meet SDG7 we are installing Solar PV panels in one of the village in India. Our objective of this project is to develop a village Nagthana into an ecovillage which further address the local pollution problems and help in mitigating the climate change effects. Also, reducing electricity cuts of villagers, giving them a less costly energy is main aim of this project. This solar project was in the preliminary development stage for almost one year. We have analyzed different solutions and now 2MW ground solution has been chosen for the preliminary design of the plant. Now it's time to implement a commercial solution, follow the permission process and finance required for the project. For this volunteers are demanded.

• 6-10 hours per week / 10 weeks

  Study background or some experience in the renewables sector and/or the economic/financial sector. Ability & willingness to research the permission process for a project realization. Communication with local energy institutions, technical side of installation companies. OR Ability and willingness to find and merge different financing opportunities, communication with banks and institutions (IRENA, Renewables and development funds) as well as with the commercial side of installation companies
