- At least 5 years of progressive experience working on research, policy analysis on disability and the rights of persons with disabilities is required

- Experience on research on digital technologies and on assistive technologies is desired
- Fluency in English is required
- Other UN language is desired

• Timely delivery of research. • Report to the Human Rights Council on digital and assistive technologies is founded in solid research and reflects latest developments to contribute to robust and efficient support and care systems, to ensure community inclusion of persons with disabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities
Background: Resolution A/HRC/RES/55/8 mandates OHCHR to draft a report on "Support systems to ensure community inclusion of persons with disabilities," focusing on digital and assistive technologies. The report aims to evaluate current technologies, identify gaps, and propose recommendations to enhance the inclusion of persons with disabilities. Objectives: The consultant will conduct research to draft the mandated report, focusing on the integration and application of digital and assistive technologies in care and support systems for persons with disabilities. Scope of Work: 1. Stakeholder Analysis and Input Integration: - Analyze contributions from stakeholders. - Incorporate inputs, highlighting good examples and practices. 2. Research on Latest Developments: - Conduct research on advancements in digital and assistive technologies. - Focus on their application in care and support systems. 3. Identification of Good Practices: - Identify and document best practices for community inclusion. 4. Formulation of Recommendations: - Develop evidence-based recommendations for States, development actors, and other stakeholders. - Ensure recommendations are practical and actionable. 5. Preliminary Desk Review: - Conduct a desk review of research on transportation and housing. - Prepare preliminary findings for the subsequent report mandated by the Human Rights Council.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced degree in Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Law or other disciplines related to Public Policy At least 5 years of progressive experience working on research, policy analysis on disability and the rights of persons with disabilities is required. Experience on care and support systems is required. Experience on research on digital technologies and on assistive technologies is desired.
Languages
Fluency in English is required. Other UN language is desired.
