More 1 million in the Eastern Mediterranean Region die prematurely every year due to the direct and in direct impacts of climatic change-related risks because they live or work in unhealthy environments and are exposed to harmful pollutants in air, water, soil, food as well as extreme heat with inadequate mitigation measures at homes and workplaces. Direct climate change effects may affect anyone but, as with many stressors, climate change will hit disproportionally vulnerable populations, migrants and displaced among them. Despite of this, the nexus between climate change, health and migrations is understudied.

Under the guidance and supervision of the senior regional specialist on migration health and in coordination with the regional specialist on climate change, the Online Volunteers will provide research support to conducting the desk review, drafting a concerning article and power point presentation, which will be used by IOM to conceptualize programme and interventions on preventing and mitigate health impact of climate change in the context of migration for supporting Member States in the region.in achieving the SDGs 3 (HEALTH), 10.7 (MIGRATION) and 13 (CLIMATE ACTION)
