This assignment falls under the UNODC’s EU-funded project “Countering and Preventing Terrorism in Pakistan.” Youth engagement plays a key role, with networks established to foster dialogue, promote cultural understanding, and counter extremist narratives. The research will provide evidence-based insights to strengthen these networks and guide future programming.
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Officer - Preventing and Countering Terrorism (UNODC, Islamabad, Pakistan) the Online Volunteer (OV) will support the compilation of a research paper/report on the theme: “How culture can positively impact Countering and Preventing Violent Extremism (CVE/PVE) in Pakistan.”
Online Volunteer will be expected to: - Review existing literature, case studies, and good practices. - Analyse how cultural practices, traditions, narratives, and values can serve as positive drivers of resilience against extremism - Produce a research paper/report with clear findings and actionable recommendations for youth-led and community-based initiatives."
Note: Associated guidelines, data, insights, formats, and key requirements will be shared in greater detail by the host entity with the selected online volunteer during the onboarding process and during the course of the assignment.
