Result of Service

• Conduct research and communications for producing at least 15 Knowledge Products from the Community of Practice • Enrol and manage at least 500 members of the Community of Practice from Academia, Government, Civil Society, private sector, and experts from Asia Pacific Region. • Set up a repository of knowledge resources with at least 300 documents.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Consultant will play a key role in supporting the APCTT Community of Practice (CoP) on Climate Technologies by conducting research, developing, and delivering knowledge sharing activities, and providing support to community members. Specific responsibilities of the consultant include: • Draft and edit responses for APCTT Community of Practice on Climate Technologies members in responding to their queries on climate technologies. • Compile responses in the 15 query-response-consolidated response cycles into high quality, well researched knowledge products of international standard. • Conduct research on climate technologies, including identifying and reviewing relevant literature, conducting interviews with experts • Execute a quarterly community feedback surveys and present the quarterly performance analytics report. • Develop and maintain the repository of the Community on climate technologies. • Conduct research and prepare presentations to share the learnings of the APCTT Community of Practice on Climate Technologies at relevant events and meetings, as needed. • Identify and source relevant resources, such as research papers, reports, case studies, and tools into a knowledge repository for the CoP. • Prepare a Quarterly Community Update on advancements and trends in climate technology. • Work with APCTT’s programme team in documenting the key learnings through formulation of concept notes, design of capacity building events and in APCTT knowledge products.

Qualifications/special skills

A first level or higher university degree in Climate Change, Environment, Innovation, Sustainable Development, Environmental journalism, International Relations related to science and technology, or any other related area. A minimum of 5 years working experience with international development organisations in Asia and the Pacific preferably in the area of Environment and Climate Change. Experience of managing communities of practice or knowledge networks is mandatory. The consultant is expected to have a good understanding of climate technologies; experience of using digital platforms and research for managing communities of practice or digital networks; excellent communication and networking skills and a deep understanding of policy advocacy processes. The consultant is expected to provide links to published publications, blogs or knowledge products created or compiled by him/her related to the field of environment or climate change.

Languages

• An excellent command of the English language and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

Additional Information

The consultant will conduct research on climate technologies, gather relevant data, communicate with CoP members and deliver the following: All Months: 1.Support and guide to community members to help them access and post responses to the queries. 2. Manage the CoP's social media presence to engage the community and other stakeholders. 3. Prepare regular reports on the community's activities, growth, and impact. 4. Update the CoP member database for new enrolments. 5. Update the knowledge repository for the CoP. 1. Month 1 to 3 1.1. Conduct research for Consolidated Replies of two queries. 1.2. Quarterly Community Update on advancements and trends in climate technology. 2. Month 4 to 6 2.1. Conduct research for Consolidated Replies of four queries. 2.2. Quarterly Community Update on advancements and trends in climate technology. 3. Month 7 to 9 3.1. Conduct research for Consolidated Replies of four queries. 3.2. Quarterly Community Update on advancements and trends in climate technology. 4. Month 10 to 12 4.1. Conduct research for Consolidated Replies of five queries. 4.2. Quarterly Community Update on advancements and trends in climate technology. Consultancy duration: The Contract shall be for a duration of 12 work-months starting from 15 August 2024. Consultancy fee - USD 20,000 Consultancy fee will be paid in four equal installments of 25% each against above four deliverables.
