Overview

Assist with data collection and analysis tasks for the UN.

You have:

  • A university Degree in Statistics, Social or other related area.
  • 5 years of experience in data manipulation with social background.
  • Experience in data analysis, research conducting and good drafting skills.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic are required.
  • Good drafting skills.

Result of Service The incumbent is required to complete the above-mentioned tasks with a high level of accuracy and punctuality.

Work Location Office (UN-House ESCWA - Beirut)

Expected duration 6 to 9 months

Duties and Responsibilities- Assist in data collection, compilation, and dissemination. - Assemble original statistical material; adjust reported data from different sources and load data into computerized database system. -Generate simple graphs. -Participate in the review and compilation of background materials. -Assist in the evaluation and examination of data sets for accuracy, clarity, and validity. -Compile statistical series for comparison against estimates -Update statistical series in established formats. Applies new data and derived statistics, enters data on survey reports and provides information for publication. -Assist in the maintenance of relevant computerized databases. -Assist in liaising with United Nations system organizations to obtain necessary statistical and other relevant information. -Prepare data sets upon request; responds to queries/requests and maintain/update web pages. -Perform other duties as assigned. -Support the implementation of the Disability Workshop on 27-28 July 2022 and preparation of background papers.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: A university Degree in Statistics, Social or other related area. Experience: The post requires 5 years of experience in data manipulation with social background. The post requires experience in data analysis, research conducting and good drafting skills. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, Fluency in English and Arabic are required.
