- At least a Bachelor on Agricultural Economics, Economics, development Economics, or related courses.
- Experience with analyzing spatial data.
- Experience in integrating climate data with other spatial datasets at different scales, frequency, and sources.
- Experience in R, Stata, and QGIS are plus.
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office package.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Well-developed skills in personal organisation, priority setting, problem-solving, and accuracy.
- Confidence in supervising the work of others and ability to communicate clearly about the progress of work.
Job Description
THE ORGANIZATION The Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT (Alliance) delivers research-based solutions that harness agricultural biodiversity and sustainably transform food systems to improve people’s lives. About the position
The Temporary Research Assistant will be responsible for supporting research on nutrition and youth, preparing literature reviews, assisting with data analysis using various datasets, developing reusable R code for assigned tasks, contributing to annotation work using large language models, and performing other duties as required to support the team.
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of climate data at pixel level
- Support spatial analysis using different datasets
- Support merging different datasets and visualize on maps
- Prepare reusable R code for the tasks
- Support annotation work using large language model
Perform other duties as required for the team.
Requirements
At least a Bachelor on Agricultural Economics, Economics, development Economics, or related courses.
- Experience with analyzing spatial data
- Experience in integrating climate data with other spatial datasets at different scales, frequency, and sources.
- Experience in R, stata, and QIGS are plus
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office package

Terms of employment
This position is a nationally recruited position based in Nairobi, Kenya. The contract will be for a period of 11 months.
