You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Communications Research, Development Studies) or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years relevant experience in child protection, research, advocacy, and networking is preferred.
- Strong research skills, with demonstrated skills in designing research studies, implementing various research methods, processing, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and preparing research reports.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working with children/young people and others.
- Ability to work effectively with other individuals and in teams.
- Computer literate and adept in the use of MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work well in stressful situations.
- Willingness to work additional hours toward the attainment of program objectives and deliverables.
- Highly organized, with good attention to detail and developed ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines.
- Understanding and belief in Save the Children’s mission and vision; commitment to its objectives and methodology.
- Willingness to travel to any part of the country.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Research Assistant will provide overall support in the Development of the Parenting Framework and Action Plan for the Parenting Effectiveness Service Program. This work includes: (1) Assisting in the conduct of research and co-designing workshops; (2) Providing administrative and logistical support to the Project Team and Researchers; and (3) Assisting the Project Team in planning, executing, and overseeing the project activities to ensure that these are completed on time and within budget.
The position will be supervised by the Child Protection Manager and will work closely with the Child Protection Advisor, Early Childhood Care and Development Advisor, and the Research Team. He or she will also coordinate with relevant staff from the Awards, Finance, Supply Chain, Admin, and IT teams, and with other relevant Advisors and selected staff from the field offices who will be part of an internal Technical Working Group.
