Online Volunteers will be researching the Gender Based Violence (GBV) situation in Papua New Guinea and will assist in writing a comprehensive and analytical literature review on the topic. Online Volunteers will be expected to work independently in completing assigned research and writing tasks but also be expected to work collaboratively with team members in order to create a structured literature review suitable for publication.

    The Morobe Development Foundation Inc. (MDF) is an organization committed to community development. MDF focuses on women empowerment and challenges women face in Papua New Guinea. This research and review would provide a comprehensive understanding of the current gender based violence (GBV) women face, factors and ideologies perpetuating GBV and propose possible solutions and support for victims and those affected.

  • Volunteers: 3 needed

  • 6-10 hours per week / 12 weeks

    This task requires highly developed research and writing skills. We recommend volunteers working on this project have a Bachelor of Arts degree. Suitable education fields/ specializations would be in the area of anthropology, sociology, gender studies, women studies. Candidates should have an understanding of women's rights, empowerment, gender issues, or gender based violence. Previous experience publishing work and submitting articles for peer review would be a great asset.
