ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

WFP supports over 1.4 million people in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh including over 860,000 Rohingya refugees and host community Bangladeshi under the L2 emergency operation. WFP provides food and nutrition assistance to the entire refugee population in the world’s largest refugee camp as well as school meals, nutrition service, and livelihood support to host communities in Cox’s Bazar.

JOB PURPOSE

The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. In Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, WFP provides life-saving assistance to more than 860,000 Rohingya refugees and over 400,000 most vulnerable households in the local communities. WFP implements a range of programmes including integrated food and nutrition assistance, school feeding activities, emergency preparedness and tailored livelihoods programme to support the most vulnerable population.

The Reports Associate will work closely with members of the External Relations & Reports unit as well as Programme, Resource Management and Communications teams.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the overall supervision of External Relations & Reports head and direct supervision of the Reports lead, the job holder will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Support Produce products/reports in a corporate template which includes, situation updates, operation overviews, snapshots for both internal and external audiences
  • Consolidate inputs from concerned programme units and draft the Cox’s Bazar sub-office monthly situation reports
  • Combine concerned programme unit inputs for donor reports at the Cox’s Bazar sub-office level with the aim to feed into Country Office level donor reporting requirements
  • Assist the Level 2 Emergency Response by providing and consolidating inputs and beneficiary achievements for internal regular updates
  • Coordinate with Information Management Officers to gather monthly updates for reports and other relevant products
  • Ensure that standard procedures and templates are followed to drive the quality, consistency and standardisation of information management and performance reporting across WFP
  • Support the initiatives for developing improved, streamlined, and harmonized including drafting of related normative guidance, as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: University degree in Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Information Management or Journalism, Business Management, Social Sciences or other relevant field.

EXPERIENCE: Three years of progressively responsible work experience where one year in the relevant business stream with with a background and interest in international humanitarian development.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: • Strong English writing and editing and oral communication skills • Understanding of/skills at infographics, designing, data analysis and management tools • Desired but not required: Familiarity with the refugee and host community context of Cox’s Bazar.

LANGUAGE: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Bangla. Much desirable, fluency in oral Chittagonian/ Rohingyan dialect.
