Overview

Conduct reporting assessments and maintain reporting processes.

You have:

  • Master degree or equivalent in Management and Development, Development Studies or social or other related relevant field.
  • At least 2 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in reporting, M&E, statistics, communication or other relevant programmes.
  • Fluent in French.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Candidate must be 25 years or older.
  • Irish citizen or a European Economic Area national with an unrestricted right to reside in Ireland or a declaration of refugee status.

Contract

This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.

Description of task

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Deputy Resident Representative or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Reporting Officer will:

  • Conduct reporting needs assessments, maintain a reporting calendar and ensure that program and donor-funded project reporting processes are systemized;
  • Assist the Deputy Resident Representative and Operations manager in producing regular project reports consistent with results frameworks;
  • Ensure that progress reports are results oriented and submitted on time;
  • Provide feedback to the management team and ensure that results and lessons learned feed into the team’s analytical and project work (e.g. into decision-making process);
  • In liaison with the Communication and Oversight unit, prepare substantive reports and written contributions for annual donor reports; annual UNDP reports; monthly briefings; newsletters, fund raising efforts and other reporting needs;
  • In coordination with the operations experts and the Communication prepare a monthly briefing to be shared with the national counterparts; donors; UN country team; UNDP relevant offices;
  • In liaison with the Communication, prepare a monthly briefing to be shared internally on all the relevant reporting, normative and policy documents to the Burkina Faso context, issued by local, national and international national institutions, relevant IGOs, NGOs and UN actors;
  • In liaison with project managers and M&E managers, verify data quality in the Atlas Project Management Module; In collaboration with the M&E officer of the Governance unit, contribute to the collection and analysis of data on the effects and the preparation of the ROAR.

Required degree level:

Master degree or equivalent

Education - Additional Comments:

Advanced higher degree (Master’s or equivalent) in a relevant area, e.g. Management and Development, Development Studies or social or other related relevant field. A relevant combination of university degree, professional training and experience may be considered in lieu of the advanced degree.

Experience remark:

At least 2 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in reporting, M&E, statistics, communication or other relevant programmes; experience with UNDP is an asset, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization;

  • Sound security awareness;
  • Have affinity with or interest in volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.

This assignment is funded by the Government of the Republic of Ireland, therefore only the following are eligible to apply: Irish citizen or a European Economic Area national with an unrestricted right to reside in Ireland or have a declaration of refugee status from the Minister for Justice and Law Reform.

This is a UN Volunteer assignment and eligible candidates must be 25 years of age or older.

Selection process
