ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

This position is within WFP Caribbean, established to implement a multi-country technical assistance and capacity-strengthening programme in the Caribbean region (covering 22 countries and territories), supporting emergency preparedness and response (EPR) functions. WFP work focused to strengthen the use of social protection systems in times of crisis through research, knowledge sharing, and advocacy, facilitating intra-regional south-south collaboration, and developing human resource capacity in this area. Governments are increasingly requesting tailored support in the form of technical assistance in key areas of WFP’s expertise including VAM, information management, beneficiary targeting, and strengthening delivery mechanisms. WFP collaborates with regional institutions and international financial institutions to explore innovative solutions to address barriers to disaster risk financing.

JOB PURPOSE

This position is within the Communications, Partnership, Reporting and Gender Unit and provides to support to the partnerships and reporting functions, including any contributions to strategic engagement activities. Reporting to the Partnerships Officer/ Head of the Unit, the Reporting and Partnerships Officer will contribute to the positioning of the WFP Caribbean Office with implementing partners like regional insitutions and national governments, international financial institutions, government donors, private sector, amongst others. The position will also ensure that WFP Caribbean's work is represented through corportate reporting and other reports and documents that showcase WFP's work.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

1. Work with Programme and Supply chain Teams to collect accurate qualitative and quantitative data and other information, establishing, elaborating on, and maintaining systems that allow for easy retrieval of information for reporting

2. Prepare accurate and timely reports on programmes and activities that enable informed decision-making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.

3. Provide inputs into partnerships information requests and platforms, e.g. Salesforce.

4. Provide support for private sector partnership engagement for the WFP Caribbean office

5. Support to preparation and monitoring of agreements with relevant partners.

6. Support WFP engagement in the context of the Multi-country Sustainable Development Framework (MSDF) and engagement with the various UN Country Teams as well as with national counterparts, the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and its institutions.

7. Enhance WFP's leadership in forums relating to food security, nutrition, livelihoods, resilience, or engagement in humanitarian, transition, and development contexts through direct participation, briefings, information products, and other materials.

8. Support the development of products that showcase WFP Caribbean's contribution to gender-responsive and gender-transformative outcomes in the region.

9. Other duties as required.

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT

The creation of at least one information product (e.g. concept note, factsheet) for each area of WFP's work; timeline submission of inputs for reporting to donors, the UN and any other partners; Finalisation and monitoring of agreements with regional entities like CARICOM and the University of the West Indies. Established strategy for private sector engagement for the office and the implementation of the strategy. Partnerships Action Plan entered into Salesforce. SitReps (Situation Reports) and Daily Operational Briefs completed and shared with RBP/ HQ. UN Info updated and inputs made into UN reports.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Advanced University degree in Political Science, International Development, Development Economics, International Relations, or other relevant field or First University degree with at least two additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.

Experience: Minimum of three years of professional experience in business and strategic management and planning.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

At least two (2) years of relevant postgraduate professional-level work experience in partnerships, reporting fundraising, strategy development, and/or other related fields.

Experience supporting partnerships and/or reporting functions, including developing proposals, soliciting input for reports, drafting agreements, producing visibility plans, and/or crafting joint strategies

DURATION OF CONTRACT: 11 months
