Organizational Setting:

FAO’s approach to development assistance in Mindanao focuses on supporting the rehabilitation of agriculture and fisheries-based livelihoods, accelerating agriculture-based enterprises and increasing access to sustainable energy, and resilience to risk in municipalities affected by natural disasters and conflict.

Reporting Lines

The Report Writer/ Documentation Specialist will report to the Assistant FAO Representative (Programme).

Technical Focus

Technical report writing to support the preparation, editing and packaging of reports (progress and terminal) following donor requirements and FAO Style Guide for project OSRO/PHI/802/NZE - “Support to agriculture-based livelihoods and agribusiness enterprise for sustainable peace and development in Maguindanao and North Cotabato”.

Tasks and responsibilities

The Report Writer/Documentation Specialist will undertake the following tasks: • Propose and discuss report structure and format with the project team (content presentation, best use of case studies, visual elements, etc.); • Review background materials, including but not limited to, FAO style guidelines, previous project reports and other pertinent documents and materials (as necessary); • Organize the preparation and conduct of Project Coordination Committee (PCC), and Provincial Technical Working Group (PTWG) meeting; • Review team presentations provided at the PCC and PTWG meetings, noting information relevant for the project terminal report; • Corroborate gathered information through one-on-one (telephone/Zoom/Teams/in-person) discussions with project team members and, if necessary, with beneficiaries and project implementing partners; • Consult external sources as determined by the project team; • Draft and edit report text – including charts and graphs, as needed, ensuring accuracy and currency of all content and in compliance with the FAO Style Guide and the donor’s report requirements; • Consolidate other input into report annexes, to include financial information, partnerships and publications information, among others • Finalize the project terminal report, following the prescribe template, ensuring accuracy, clarity and coherence. Review/finalize project progress and terminal reports; and • Perform any other tasks that may be assigned by the FAO Representative, the Mindanao Sub-Office Head and the Emergency Coordinator. • Liaison with the Office of Communication (OCC) will be maintained, either directly or through an agreed focal point/coordinator, to ensure compliance with OCC standards, appropriate review and clearance processes.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements

• University degree in Mass Communication, Development Communication, Agribusiness and Marketing (Master’s degree preferred). • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in implementation of projects on or related to communication and information, reporting, research, and documentation with complementary knowledge on agribusiness, agriculture-based livelihoods, entrepreneurship, and the conflict-affected communities in BARMM. • Working knowledge Level C of English is essential • A National of the Philippines

Technical/Functional Skills

• Work experience in more than one location or area of work • Extent and relevance of experience in Mass Communication/ Development Communication/ or related work • Familiarity with United Nations implementation strategy in the BARMM context • Language requirement: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Filipino • General knowledge and skills in the use of standard office software, such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) • Ability to work as a member of the project team
