Duties and Responsibilities

The Secretariat of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species (CMS) is seeking a report writer to serve at the following meetings:

  • 4th Meeting of the ASCOBANS Common Dolphin Group (CDG4), 9-10 January 2024 (from recording)
  • 12th Meeting of the ASCOBANS North Sea Group (NSG12), 12-13 March 2024 (from recording)
  • 20th Meeting of the ASCOBANS Jastarnia Group (JG20), 13-15 March 2024 (from recording)
  • 10th Meeting of the Advisory Committee of the IOSEA Marine Turtle MOU (AC10), 31 March-3 April 2024, Pattaya, Thailand
  • 9th Meeting of the Signatory States to the IOSEA Marine Turtle MOU (MOS9), 24-27 June 2024, Dar es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania
  • 10th Meeting of the Parties to ASCOBANS (MOP10), 10-12 September 20244, Odense, Denmark

The report writer is needed to write accurate summaries of these meetings. These reports shall be produced as soon as possible after the meetings but in any case, within one month after the closure of each meeting (if attended live) or provision of the recording, unless otherwise agreed by the contractor and the Secretariat, and provided to the Secretariat for comment. Based on the comments received, these reports should be amended and submitted to the Secretariat for final approval.

Qualifications/special skills

Postgraduate degree/ diploma Five years of experience in report writing in international environmental meetings is required. Competency: a. Planning and organizing: Ability to plan own work, to prioritize multiple tasks within set deadlines; b. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Languages

Fluency in oral and written English is essential.
