Org. Setting and Reporting The incumbent of this post reports to the Area / Camp Relief and Social Services Officer, under the overall technical supervision and guidance of the Field Relief Services Officer.

Responsibilities The incumbent:

- Conducts desk study and home visits to refugees applying for Social Transfer Assistance (Social Safety Net Programme (SSNP) and Emergency Programmes); collects socio-economic data to determine eligibility for assistance, and conducts periodic site re-assessments for active recipient cases in accordance with Relief Services Instructions (RSI) or applicable emergency assistance instructions;

- Maintains accurate and up-to-date information on families on receipt of social transfer assistance, documentation, data entry/modifications on the relevant database, completing social study reports including rejected, approved, and closed cases;

- Identifies/refers refugees facing protection risks or in need of additional social work assistance/ intervention to Area Social Work Supervisor (ASWS);

- Recommends - as per instructions for short-term emergency in kind / cash assistance- eligibility for families in crises after conducting initial site assessment, and completing all related work process;

- Follows-up the timely delivery of approved cash and/or in-kind assistance to eligible families and follows up on families that failed to collect their due assistance;

- Implements/participates, as directed, in surveys and studies in the refugee community to analyze socio-economic trends;

- Participates, as requested, in workshops, meetings intended to improve professional knowledge and skills relevant to his/her field of work and transmits such acquired knowledge to other Relief Workers/ newly recruited Relief Workers;

- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).

* General information 1. This vacancy notice is open to internal and external candidates. As an Area post, only candidates who reside in Syria at the time of applications are eligible to apply. The Agency does not assume responsibilities nor support the issuance of work permits for those who has no legal documents to live in Syria;
