The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an independent humanitarian organisation helping people forced to flee. We work in crises across more than 31 countries, providing emergencies and long-term assistance to millions of people every year. We stand up for people forced to flee, advocating their rights. NORCAP, our global provider of expertise, helps improve international and local ability to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from crises. NRC also runs the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre in Geneva, a global leader in reporting on and advocating for people displaced within their own country.

What we are looking for

NRC is looking for a Regional Support Coordinator to join the Asia Regional Office. The role holder will be responsible for ensuring access to documents, including handbooks and guidelines, and other information.

If you are an action-oriented, proactive, procedure-driven, planful, and organised executive; who enjoys working independently; has a keen eye for detail; with strong interpersonal, networking, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills; then this is the role for you!

What you will do

  • Agenda drafting, meeting venue / video conferencing arrangements, minute taking, and disseminating information for key meetings.
  • Office 365, Filing Tree, and SharePoint promotion and focal point.
  • Administrative support.
  • Staff onboarding administrative routines focal point.
  • Workshops, seminars, and event organisation.
  • Legislation and registration of documents.

What you will bring

  • Administration skills and information management expertise.
  • Excellent ICT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including the advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Databases proficiency.
  • International humanitarian work understanding.
  • English fluency, both written and verbal.

  • The Asia Region for NRC comprises of a vast geographical area, and a diverse operating environment, encompassing a complex and multi-faceted set of humanitarian and recovery response needs in countries that are either fragile, environmentally vulnerable, or both, spanning two distinct displacement crises – Afghan and Rohingya.
  • The Asia Regional Office managed through an Oslo based Regional Office in Norway to oversee the country programmes in the region, and provides strategic guidance and oversight across core programme, advocacy, and support functions, covering two sub-regions: South-Central Asia (Afghanistan, Iran, and potentially Pakistan) and South-East Asia (Myanmar and Bangladesh), with an overall regional budget of above USD. 60 million and 2,200 dedicated colleagues across the continent.
  • The Asia Regional Office has staff located in several geographical areas working across support, security, advocacy, programme, and risk and compliance functions.
  • NRC’s country offices comprise contexts where we are working with displacement-affected people across the whole displacement continuum.

  • 7-month contract, with the possibility of extension based on requirements.
