Duties and Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the Consultant will be responsible for the following duties: - Support to coordination, development and review of cross-border and sub-regional analysis, with a focus on of environmental governance (food, water, energy, and climate change). - Provide support to the coordination of preparation and review process for Common Country Analysis, Cooperation Frameworks and other planning instruments as needed. - Research, analyze and consolidate SDG related data, as well as information on best practices at the sub regional and regional level, with a specific focus on environmental issues. - Support data collection and qualitative data analysis for the office, participates in survey initiatives; assists with design of data collection tools; issues data collection tools, reviews, analyzes, and interprets responses, identifies problems/issues and prepares preliminary conclusions. - Support coordination and overview of VNR processes in region and sharing of best practices and information exchange across countries. - Supporting preparation of presentation materials, background information, drafting speeches for meetings and other events - Contribution to the preparation of regional as well as sub regional partnership mapping and strategy developments - Providing support to identify priorities on whom to partner with a focus on IOs, NGOs and private sector - Support to coordination and follow up of sub-regional partnership strategies - Support engagement of global compact office in development and engagement of the private sector as partners in achieving the SDGs in the region. - Provides administrative and substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc., to include proposing agenda topics, identifying and proposed participants, preparation of background documents and presentations, handling logistics, etc. - Undertakes outreach activities; participates in the development of training workshops, seminars, etc.; participates in and makes presentations on assigned topics/activities - Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications/special skills Skills: Strong drafting skills; Production of research papers; service minded and coordination experience Academic Qualifications: Advanced university degree (Master degree or equivalent) sustainable development, economics, public policy, public administration, finance, natural resources management, engineering, law, social sciences or related field. Experience: A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project/programme management, administration or related area in Europe and Central Asia. Experience in drafting policy analysis for senior management required. Work experience with a UN development system entity and in coordination is highly desirable. Language: Fluency in English is required.
