OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

To ensure that effective WHO country presence is established to implement WHO GPW13 in the context of biennial plans agreed on with the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran and harmonized with the United Nations country team.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The incumbent will be performing the following duties:

1. Act as WHO Receptionist making sure that the reception is manned at all times and that the replacement is in place before taking leave.

2. Respond to all incoming calls and transfer them to the relevant staff members and make outgoing calls upon request by staff members. Answering routine enquiries and routing telephone calls to concerned staff.

3. Operate the telephone exchange and screen calls before transferring them.

4. Receive visitors and guide them to meet the concerned person.

5. Assist in keeping the WHO contact list updated with the full information.

6. Manage the Audio Conference at Country Office and help in Teleconferences.

7. Assist in calculating Monthly payment for landlines and ensure payments are settled. 8. Reports any malfunction detected in the system.

9. Prepare and types all correspondence and statistical reports relating to the job.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: Completion of secondary education

Experience

Essential: At least two years of relevant practical experience in a similar position in a commercial or governmental undertaking.

Desirable: Work experience in an international organization is an advantage

REMUNERATION

WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at USD 15,428 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
